BANSHEE (CAN) - S/T 7'' 1983
Requested privately from tearitup1234. One of the well-hidden secrets of North American metal, both songs are guaranteed to kick your ass and rip the guts of all those self-proclaimed ''true'' metallers in the blink of an eye. Ridiculously rare but absolutely unique.

Jay (SonicBludgeon) recently ripped his cassette copy of the Banshee 7", and I got it, having never heard it, and was totally blown away by I Am The Light (although Breakdown is also awesome, but its too short and not as good anyway).
This is a very high priority in my list of completely unknown bands that I REALLY want more material from (alongside Sorcerer (US), Tortured Dog, Storm (Bel), Warning (Swe), Strychnine, Legion (NY) and countless others...). I dont have more then 4 songs from any of these bands, but what I have is totally fucking amazing...except for Storm, which is ok, but I really want to hear more because it includes Alain Vandenberghe from RITUAL (Bel). If you havent heard Ritual you REALLY need to (just ask Doomedplanet...haha).

That would be unbelievable! Is there a set time when its going to happen, or is it still just a rumour at this point? Hopefully they'll release some kind of comp that I can buy to make up for not being able to afford the self-titled.humus wrote:I don't know Storm but word goes around that Ritual will get back together.BloodOfChrist wrote:except for Storm, which is ok, but I really want to hear more because it includes Alain Vandenberghe from RITUAL (Bel). Still a rumour, but from a pretty reliable source. However, bands can change their minds very quick as you all know.BloodOfChrist wrote:That would be unbelievable! Wasn't doomedplanet doing some sort of compilation for them? But it got cancelled? Remember reading something about that on Miskatonic, but can't remember any details.

Thanks for the new link, listening to it right now. By far and away my favorite 7 inch, I've been lucky enough to own two copies. I got a copy from a friend when it was first released, he ordered it from Cargo records along with some other lp's, hated it and sold it to me for a buck. I found another copy 2 yrs ago on ebay for $5.99, ended up selling it to buy more records, I kinda regret that now, it would of been nice to have a spare.Oh well, at least someone else got to enjoy it. Thanks again.
