@ nightsblood
I havent released any vinyl yet, only CDs. As said before the biggest drawback for me is the total lack of storage space. I keep my cd releases on spindles which makes them compact enough, but LPs cannot be kept on spindles and I just dont have where to store them.
I'm not looking for fast sales either. From all the CDs I've released so far since 2006 only 4 have sold out. The other 26 or so are still available here on the shelves. I just want to have faith they will sell one day. Sadly for the vinyl, from my observations and what other small labels have told me it doesnt seem so easy to even move 500 units these days.
@ the guy claiming to be able to move 2000 Leather nun LP re-issue, I think this is impossible. Everyone wants the original, but once re-released only few people will pick the re-release. It always happens this way, even with cds.

None of those seem to carry any sufficient demand left whatsoever and there are still plenty of distros around having copies so repressings are not on the immediate agenda. Maybe down the road when a sufficient demand rises once again...
With a small exception it took approx 1.5 years to move any of those releases. I'm just happy those finally sold out, and I'm not so rich to lock funds in repressings right now.
When I started this label I vowed to myself not to be greedy and not to try maximizing profits, so there is no real sense to try milk a release until every single person on the earth bought a copy. I'd much more prefer to keep going forward and use the money the label generates in new releases.

Those 80s' rarities... well I'm not sure how was the phenomenon like back in the old days... At the time during late 80s I was still a 'simple' Metalhead with only a shoe box containing my tape collectionstormspell wrote: Uh dude, do you know of any real mega-rarities which werent pressed in limited quantities in the past? All of those 80s holy-grails are nothing but limited releases of 100-500 copies... If you think about it there was a good reason why many of those things never sold in their day. It is the value of the item that makes it collectible, not the music at all.

I remember in the 90s, one of my Metal friends always tell me: "keep this 'cos likely it will become a collector item 10 years later". Today I can hear people saying: "quick buy this before it sold out and becomes a collector item in next few months...". This is sick.

And this one has a new record. The CD was usually sold for around $50+/- in the past.

I was watching this. With all the fake copies circulating in the market, it seems like buying a Jap-pressing is the safest bet. Still the price is way out of my budget....

This reminds me of Militia and their 3000-dollar EP. The band has been discussed in here quite often in the past but it seems like no one bothers to mention the name again after the release of the CD. Go figure.stormspell wrote:

Aaah, there's nothing more exciting than the vintage smell of sweaty armpits and 1989 pizza stainsThe Knell wrote:But I understand that they have some cool vintage "aura" and stuff on them.
