I would add some Demon albums like Taking the world by storm or even The plague. Some stuff of VCloven Hoof certainly have this epic touch. Tredegar comes to my mind, or Omen and Warlod, candlemass or the USA's Tyrant

Strangely enough these haven't been mentioned yet:

Manowar - March for Revenge (the utter pinnacle of sheer dramatic epic force)
Bathory - The "Twilight of the gods"-album as a whole
Manilla Road - The veils of negative existence
Solstice (UK) - Cimmerian Codex

and a well kept secret:

Arpyian Horde - From Olympus 7"

I agree that Dreamer Deceiver is a total epic too, but I still consider Victim Of Changes too be even more epic....

Changes come over her body, she doesn't see me anymore.....
I get goosebumbs all over my body every time I hear that part....

A few more:

JAG PANZER - Eyes of the night (do you remember this one? Pure Steel! "...Fly wings of moonlight is the spell tonight, soar upon its evil air..."
SALEMS WYCH - Neverending battle
BLACK SABBATH - Battle of Tyr/Odin's court/Valhalla
DOMINE - The eternal champion (12 min magnum opus)
ELIXIR - Son of Odin (Awe...)
ARRYAN PATH - Black and rising (the Osiris demo-cd version of course)

I also have to add two godly traditional irish tunes. Hope some of you have heard 'em:

"Siuil a run" and "Star of the county down"!

Had to think about this one for a while...

I think the first songs that spring to mind, the ones I involuntarily starts humming when in an epic mood would be:

Y DIAWLED - Noson Y Blaidd - a fucking MAJESTIC piece of proud, swordclashing METAL and one of the best pieces of music ever written.
MANOWAR - Bridge Of Death - the #1 "classic" in this field. Manowar's best song ever?
MASTER'S HAMMER - Já nechci mnoho trápiti již pánové váš sluch - words can never describe the genious of that opening riff, verse, brigde and chorus. Pure Epic Metal Glory!
SKYCLAD - Womb Of The Worm - kind of a joker, but this is simply a masterpiece and really fucking intense and epic.
LEGEND (US) - The Golden Bell - no comments needed

Yes i agree I have listened to the TRACK it is one of the highlights in Heavy Metal and one of my favourite songs of all time really a hymn.Unfortunately i haven't heard anything else from this band except this track.
You can try Bride's first two albums "Show no mercy" and "Live to die". The song "Heroes" is in the second one. After these two LPs they released only disasters IMO.
I used to own Brides show no mercy on cd,but as soon as I found it was christian I broke it with a sledge hammer I guess that was stupid haha,I never thought about selling it,the destruction was an impulse.

no the heaviest song on earth and I won't change my mind is "Balls to the wall" from ACCEPT...never ever there was an heavier sound and mix and the riff is the most metallish riff of all times....
