Sadly enough we dont have stores that sell metal LPs, the regular metal stores just sell Nuclear blast crap and stuff...the only store i know near my place is basic 80s metal

most of my rare LPs have been bought in the internet

(and im no big intenet fan to get music)

I wish I could. I used to do this for video games and it was a blast. The "hunt" was definitely my favorite part of the hobby, especially when you would find stuff in unexpected places like antique stores or even record stores. Nowadays I don't really have the time to invest (3 kids take up a lot of time you know!) but I would love to go on a record hunt. I still have video game radar though (meaning that I can seeminglt spot something video game related just by passing by even though it may be buried under old Beta tapes or who knows what). Just the other day I was at the local thrift getting some books for the kids and checking out the meager record selection when I walked past a big box full of old junk and there at the bottom was an Aquarius computer. Would have been thrilled to find that a few years ago, but I passed it up because I knew it would just sit around taking up space now.

Not a lot of places to go here (the last one that was any good burnt down last year), but I try to go through the second-hand stores in Oslo once a year. Very rarely anything really exciting there though. Either there's nothing interesting, or their opinions on the worth of records are extremely inflated ("if it's old, it's worth at least 50 Euros")

All the time. There are a handful of places I frequent...unfortunately only three of them are where I live, the other two are an hour away.

I keep missing the one at the ukrainian house in essendon also. (probably for the best cos some ukrainians in that community there are pissed they didnt get my grandfathers will money! haha) I used to frequent the one in camberwell town hall often finding cool near mint stuff like saint, witchkiller but nothing out of the ordinary.

Rare Records in Melbourne ...scumbag!

I got the scumbag back by picking out things to get one back for everyone so to speak... by getting vixen made in hawaii from that collection for 30au, also elessar, sas warlords etc. I hope someone sells his stores stock dirt cheap if he carks it!

yeah ok I remember myself rolling around into the second hand record stores of the capital -of Greece- (Athens) just to grab my desired pieces. This was many ages ago and it was basically a well known mission as I was aware where and for what to search.

In my North days in Thessalonica -second biggest Greek city- the vinyl haunting was more adventures as I remember myself visiting record shops not specialising in Metal just to search for some forgotten stuff in the small corner with rock and Metal records. And then there was the trip to second hand shops of the North where I was able to grab some rarities in low -and even more low- prices, just for the reason that the owner of each second hand shop was not aware of how rare a record could be.

Nowadays I would usually carry some records form my trip to capital and I would dig in the web stores to find stuff. But I do not care if it is vinyl or CD as I mostly care about the music.

The positive fact is that now in the summertime when I would usually stick into more AOR / Melodic Rock stuff my vinyl thirst will be satisfied as the vinyl editions of such album –especially from the big well known groups- are ultra cheap. So less money for vinyl more money for alcohol! Easy going stuff!!!

ah... in a better world I would have a bigger house to pakc me, my LPs, my CDs and my Amiga computers but nothing is perfect at the end of the day....

To be honest I don't dig all that much. Basically my budget is limited (don't we all dream of unlimited budgets...) and just keeping up with the new releases and buying the bargains I see on the internet (yes, they are there, maybe not super rare records for $1 but bargains nonetheless, some even on ebay) pretty much consumes that whole budget.
The fact that pretty much every second hand store I know uses popsike etc isn't very stimulating either. But when I see a garage sale, or when I visit a town and see a record store, I'll always pop-in.
