Yes his lyrical contributions to all the Dark Angel stuff he's on is good to occasionally great. He was pretty young at the time also, which makes it more impressive.

Exactly!
How old he was then, 19, 20?

Nah to pay that much I'd want to be bidding on an album I like a little more :P . We Have Arrived is okay just a little primitive and middle of the road.

Jack Schwarz drumming for me was always far too better than the overrated Gene Hoglan.

Quite possibly one of the best 5 thrash/death drummers.

no disrespect to you Fucking Åmål but I believe people throw the word "overrated" around too much and apply it to everything they dislike.

Yes but the media-metal magazines around the world always described him as one of the best metal drummers which i never understood. To me technicity in drumming is not so important, the most important thing is personal sound-feeling.For example the most people saied that the drummer in
Sodom´s In The Sign Of Evil was bad but i disagree he was phenomenous!

BUt thats why I love Hoglands performance on Darkness Descends as well. When listening to his playing you really get the feeling that the drums are begging for mercy. He really bounds them hard with a feeling.

That Jim must have had one of the most impressive metal collections around, I've seen him selling such an incredible amount of records, one more rarer than the other.

He indeed has. he was selling a mega rare Motley Crue LP last time. Did someone see that auction ending? The last time I looked it was something like $700,-. This Dark Angel auction is also impressive, didn't know that this red one was so rare. If I remember well I once bid on this red vinyl version on ebay years ago, someone ouitbidded me and it ended like $70,- or something, don't remember it anymore.
