Reissue from 1988 as a double album on 45t with 2 bonus tracks (Haunting the Chapel and Captor of Sin).
The white one is a sticker, the Metal Classics logo is printed.

Here i have a special one and quite a stretch.
You probably think "WTF"? This is a different band name and a diffrent title!
Of course, and the singer is different too. But the rest of the band members are the same and the songs are the same too. There ist just one song missing on the Rerscue LP.

Who of you has both in your collection a did know it?
And who thought that the Palass LP is the better one of the 2?
In reality Rescue is better because the singer is better.

I only have the Rescue, but I agree it's better. It was funny I didn't know about this album, or at least not of the connection, until maybe seven years ago. I had long wanted the Palass, so I was elated to find out that Rescue was the same but better and much cheaper.

I recently discovered a similar situation with the 1972 S/T Limousine album & the 1973 S/T Faith LP. Turns out that Limousine's label went belly-up just after the album was released so they changed their name to Faith & Terry Knight's Brown Bag label re-released the album under the Faith name the following year, changing all the song titles into the bargain too, but the music within is identical.

Image

Amusingly, they then had to change their name again, as there was already a pre-existing group called Faith, so they became Faith Band for their next 5 LPs.
Not Metal of course, but that 72/73 LP is a decent listen, Classic Rock with some Proggy touches. Later, as Faith Band they became more of a schizophrenic Southern/AOR/Soft Rock act.
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.

I actually did notice this back when I did he Rumble Records discography page and diving into the label's rooster, and I also remember it being a much more listenable release because of the less annoying vocals. Still haven't crossed path with a grab-worthy copy of Rescue yet though. Can't say I've tried too hard since it isn't 100% up my alley anyways.. Need to revisit.
..and maybe I should add a comment about this in the Rumble label page :? :?:

Edit: Anyone care to confirm that this is a completely new recording and not just a new vocal track? Sounds so on a quick YT comparison...

Edit#2: Comment added.

Really? Any details on the recording date/studio on the sleeves? The mix is certainly different..

It says "Produced by Pierre Delfosse for Townland" on both sleeves.
Plus engeneered by Marc Francois on the Palass backcover.
Plus engeneered by M, Francois on the Rescue labels.

Cheers for the research. Yup, sounds like it could be the same base recording then. Will do some final comparisons..

Hm... Still convinced there's a less-than-zero chance that this is a very similar but different recording, maybe utilizing the same studio and crew who did the first take..

Help us solve this mystery:

In reference to your earlier comment, i heartily agree with the sentiments in the small print.

These are the same album. The second Stratovarius album was originally issued as "II" in Finland in 1991. In 1992, Shark Records picked it up but with a new cover and the title "Twilight Time". Shark release was cd only, but when it was released again on Shark offshot T&T Records in 1994(?) there was a vinyl version of Twilight Time also.

The album is great melodic metal with a neoclassical flair, if anyone doubts. Much stronger than the debut.
