Not the same band as the other that realesed a demo in 1991 and that was based in Hesse not far from Wiesbaden.

Hesse is not a city, it's a german province and Wiesbaden is the capital of Hesse.

What criteria do punk/hc bands have to meet to be included? Would love to see some info on Boskops, Upright Citizens, Porno Patrol etc. I at least think Boskops brought some metal into their sound later on and they always had some heavy riffage and solos going on.

Basically all Hardcore bands are welcome that play a Crossover style with Metal riffs. F.e. I refused to add this band
https://www.discogs.com/Offside-Violenc ... se/4196351
though they play a fast style of Hardcore, but without any traces of Metal. While bands like Inferno, Squandered Message or annoying acts like Jingo De Lunch and Destination Zero was added for featuring Metal riffs.
As for the Boskops, I thought about this band myself earlier, well, I guess I'll give it another try. They basically wasn't sounding much different than Inferno at all if I remember well. I'll also check out Upright Citizens and Porno Patrol. These bands are new to me, so thanx for the suggestions.

Great work Prowler, thanks! Finally everyone can have a taste of that mouldy atmosphere of german metal underground  (Gotta love those ancient photos!) Gonna grab the compilations and see what prog metal gems you omitted

Slowly getting through this feature. It's very interesting, this is awesome work Prowler.

One teensy-tiny feature request: Allow hoovering over the band logos to see the band name in text (normal text pop-up is fine). I am not metal enough to read some of the death metal logos and a couple of profiles didn't mention the names.

Good idea. I'll look into it, but it might be one of those javascript-functions that will only work with certain browsers or certain settings...

Any thoughts on the samplers? Personal faves include CRACK JAW (would love to hear the whole demo!), TRIVALES (can upload the EP on request), GREENBACK, PANTHER (is the comp CD worth getting?), TITAN (An east-German BRAVE BOMBER??), DOKTOR ROCK (just sticks glue in my brain-goo), REGENBOGEN etc...

Just having the band name above or below the logo is clear text could also work, as long as I can see their name somehow.

Haven't gotten to them yet, they're on my todo-list.

I thought that the bands name is mentioned at least once in the text, when the logo is "unreadable".

The Crack Jaw tape is coming along your way DaN. As for Panther, the CD contains mainly the 2 (long) Demo tapes and those are different than the old studio track, very very rude Death/Thrash.
