Is it just me, or does the album sound quite bad on vinyl? It’s very muddy and lacks clarity and punch. I suspect Metal Blade just put the CD master on vinyl. Certainly no “mastered FOR VINYL by Patrick Engel at Temple of Disharmony” declaration on this release. I redeemed my download code and indeed, the bloody MP3’s sound better!
I practically gave up buying new recordings on vinyl 10+ years ago because they usually sounded inferior to the CD’s, but I thought the industry had long since realized records aren’t souvenirs but people actually buy them to listen to.
I don't hear a lot of difference in sound between the vinyl and the download ; both sound very 'muffled' to my ears. A damn shame! I wonder if the CD-version sounds better

... However, musically I think "Forever Black" is a great record. Can't stop playing it, and I'm soooo looking forward seeing them on KIT next year (cross fingers...). And by the musical quality of this record, I wouldn't have minded a full set of more 'recent' songs ("Paradise Lost" and onwards), which was the original idea of them headlining both nights I guess.
