Pantherman's 'Panther Walk' single is also a fun listen.

Nice article about how Metal reached, and was lived, in a remote corner (Achterhoek) in The Netherlands in the beginning of the 80's.
Maybe its readable by translate from google or something, nice flyers/images nontheless.

Re: Dutch Steel
Now that's a really cool article. Nice to read some background info on the godly Metal Deadness-split. It's very tempting to turn that Skull Crusher flyer into a t-shirt...Hans wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 7:01 pm Nice article about how Metal reached, and was lived, in a remote corner (Achterhoek) in The Netherlands in the beginning of the 80's.

Re: Dutch Steel
Does anybody know this compilation (The Metal Dreams compilation), does it exist?

Re: Dutch Steel
Here's a "Metal Dreams" comp, but with the wrong Tyrant:

A misunderstanding perhaps?

Re: Dutch Steel
Thanks Dan, I read the interview.
The bandmembers names from the interview are all different names then the ones listed on metalarchives.
The band from the interview is from Den Bosch, the one I know is from Breda.
Ofcourse Tyrant is popular name.. but its odd.

Re: Dutch Steel
The Tyrant on the compilation listed on Discogs are obviously the german band (the song is taken from the "Ruling the World" album), while it seems there is another bootleg compilation also called "Metal Dreams" in a 6xCD Box Set (????) where the dutch Tyrant are featured....but I could find broken torrent links only:
VA Compilations/VA - 1978 - 1983 - The Metal Dreams [6CD-set, misc. demo stuff]/Disc 6/01 - Tyrant - Hellhounds.mp34.3 MB
I guess it's just some online-made/fan-made stuff. The only reference about this "compilation" is this one:
"Ahora el sello Metal Dreams rescata del olvido su tema “Hellhounds” but I guess it's just a copy-and-paste taken from Metal Archives.
There is also another "Metal Dreams" serie in 5 CDs by Nuclear Blast but obviously it has nothing to do with all the above stuff.
Edit:
I found also this link here:
Volumes 5 and 6:
http://bestoldmetal-ironkiller.blogspot ... l%20Dreams
Volumes 01-04 :
http://bestoldmetal-ironkiller.blogspot ... l%20Dreams
Guess it's just a online-made compilation or maybe one of those countless japanese compilation bootleg cd made in the early 2000s like they did with lot of old NWOBHM bands

Re: Dutch Steel
Ah thanks, that must be it.
Re: Dutch Steel
The mighty dutch heavy metal band; Random, sees its first physical release after 35 years of obscurity.
I have not heard it myself yet, this contains the 1989 and 1991 demo, not the great Demo tracks 1985 and 1987 , I myself know, Knocking/Stars//The Tyrant/Steal The night !!
https://www.nodustrecords.com/shop/cd-s ... etail.html
1 Stone Cold Fever
2 On The Loose
3 Shout It Out
4 Stinkin' Btich
5 Big Fat Lady Cat
6 Free Lickin'
7 Down And out
8 Back To The Roots
9 Dolce Vita
10 For We Are The Strong
11 For Heaven's Sake
12 Don't Play With Your Life
13 Stone Cold Fever (Live)
14 One Night Stand (Live)
15 Come and Get It (Live)
16 Lightning Strikes Again (Live)
How awesome is this demo:
https://youtu.be/aN_muxXMRMc
On a final note: the rumored 7" Knocking/Stars does not exist, so you can all remove this from your wantslists, if you still had hope after all these years.

@hans:
Can't get youtube to work atm, but this bump reminded me - would you be interested in reviewing any of the Dutch 7"s you posted elsewhere a while back?

Re: Dutch Steel
Oh yeah forgot to do that earlier.
You know: Sword, Black Flame, Exciter, Spoiler, Metal Powers, Final Heiress,Highway, good stuff!
These might interest you:
T-Bone is cool hardrock from the southern part of the Netherlands.
Some great guitar work on both sides, and I like the nasty vocals of Jan Palthe.
This guy still looks like an 80s metalhead today, and he still gigs in bands like Chewy's Wish on biker festivals.
Too bad both tracks run under 3 minutes.
Recommended.
Escape seems quite rare, before 2017 I have never seen a copy at any list or where ever.
It's from 1984, the sleeve screams heavy metal, and thats what it is.
Devil's Girl is great track, find it on youtube.
The b-side Nightfighters starts with an eery intro, followed by some very bad drum work, not too great vocals,
but the atmosphere is the right one!! The solo'ing is very deep purple'ísh (child in time) I really like it a lot!!
Recommended. Awesome single!!
Griffith is awesome!! Stomping hardrock, with good production!! Great solo;ing and vocals.
B side is good ballad, not metal.
Recommended!
Nataraj are a hardrock band from Dordrecht, sounds really great, kinda like Helloise. Great vocals and guitars.
Very recommended.
Zenith: hardrock, live tracks, forgetable.
Molten Steel Well this name, and backsleeve are so promising!! But too bad, this is hardrock at best, with lots of 80s keyboard tunes, over the top vocals, and an occasional solo. Still its OK. haha.
You can forget about:
Trader are powerpop, or melodic rock.
A side, I Gotta Get Out, B, Tomorrow Powerpop, but cool guitarist.
not recommended for The Corroseum readers though.
Wicked Lady Pop/punk.. dont like it.
Mindless are hard hitting hardrock/pubrock at least A.
B is a country rocker, but ok.
Thick sound, and good musicians, I like this one.
Recommended for hardrock, not heavy metal.
Pete Young is a rock band from the Tilburg region, lot of keyboards and sweet melodies.
The 7" is from 1987, A track is pure crap, B has a slight prog melodic hardrock vibe, like Queensryche.
I picked it up out of curiosity and because it was recorded at Joe's Garage.
Not recommended.
Onyx is 1980s hardrock, singer is the same guy as Sad Iron, Herke vd Poel, you can hear that hehe.
Band is from Utrecht region. Cool guitar work!
Not really recommended.
Hedgehog, intriging cover and song titles, but this is false alarm, this is melodic rock stuff, maybe some like Golden Earring.
I like it, but not metal.
Black Mountain, same story as Hedgehog, in fact these sound similar.
