Comparing the 2 CRUCIFIXION Anthologies

Post by nightsblood »

Anyone know why both High Roller & CUlt Metal classics have near-identical CRUCIFIXION anthologies released this year?
The HR collection includes one extra song, 'Sacrifice', which I'm unfamiliar with.
Does anyone know if one version has better sound quality, better packaging/liner notes, etc?
Much as I love the band I don't feel the need to buy both these items.

No clue. At first I thought that CMC did the CD version and HR the vinyl version, but now I see that HR also has a CD coming out. I've preordered the HR vinyl copy but as it won't be released until late August, it'll take a while before I can let you know what it sounds like.

CMC did a 5 track vinyl version called "Green Eyes" yet did a cd with more track. The vinyl sold out instantly, I did not care since it was incomplete. HHR are doing a complete package on vinyl. why 2 different labels though, no idea, maybe the band just licensed to both territories to make a bit more?

Cannot speak for the CMC edition since I could not get any copies but the the High Roller edition is amazing. The demo songs of Crucifixion are simply awesome and the sound quality is really great.

Did not expect otherwise. HHR delivers as usual.

This flurry of Crucifixion activity made me wonder if some type of reformation was perhaps on the cards?
In addition to those 2 comps, Splattered Records recently re-released 'The Fox' 7", and in a pic sleeve to boot.

They could have used a " better" band pic for the back cover

A bit out of topic, but Splattered records are also going to repress the first Blitzkrieg single. NWOBHM rules the world!!!
But yeah, looks like Crucifixion is back on the map.

I was surprised it hadn't previously been mentioned here.
Likewise their rerelease of the Centurion 45 also in a first-time pic sleeve:

Received my copy of "After The Fox" a couple of days ago. Nothing to complain about, highly recommended!
