Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 2 out now!
Yeah, Godspeed's only 2 hard released tracks would both be worthy on any Aussie - Corroseum compilation mix. Lightning Rock, Lotus too. Sadly they are also only demo, session and live bands. (off topic- Very sad that Godspeed don't want to release their 1984, 86 sessions, demos on CD too. I'd skip the 88 one)Khnud wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 3:11 pm This comp is the only one I know of, I'm sure there are more.

You could gather the Concept Records compilations and add Titan "Black Mail" the other 2 tracks appear on their only 7" https://www.discogs.com/Titan-Head-Scar ... se/9541397 Sadly they never released any of their other originals from their Heavy Metal period around this time - I have a live show - and they went more commercial after this apparently.

https://www.discogs.com/Various-Headban ... ter/814669
You could go down a AUS/NZ route, and into the 90s and get more compilation only tracks.
***
That said I'm hopeful that there are some bush band, regional 70s, 80s compilations out there! Hope could be in studio or radio compilations but I haven't found anything good yet.

A best of 80s Aussies singles, demo, live tracks compilation mix - Taipan, No Class, Titan, Traitor, Enticer etc would be easier.

Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 3 out now!
Hope you likeWe’ve now reached the 3rd volume in The Corroseum’s Veterans of the Various-Wars series, and it’s time for the first UK edition!
...meaning this will be the least obcure volume, content-wise so far. Die-hard NWOBHM-aficionados should be familiar with most of the featured material, and I’m sure even your average everyday NWOBHM-amateur will recognize a title or three. This comes as no surprise since this scene is probably the most researched and well documented of all Olde Metal areas, local mixed-styles compilation albums included.
This one includes among other stuffs the CHEATER and BEDLAM CHOIR tracks that was requested recently...
@Nick:
I've been scouring discogs for some OZ/NZ mixed comps hunting down, but so far I've only found these:
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Shazam- ... se/2012927 - Includes an early STROMBRINGER recording
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Beyond- ... e/13259062 - No idea about this one, but it features a band called Pagan Rites, so it needs checking out...

Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 3 out now!
DaN, I got this Aussie comp on CD that I might be able to find and rip. I recall it having something worthwhile, but I forgot which tracks: https://www.discogs.com/Various-Death-V ... se/7906024
Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 3 out now!
Bedlam Choir is great, as hoped. Cheers! I think there was a good band hiding inside Innocent Child too; the songs are solid, but just far too long and the vocals are way better on Burnout when the kid isn't singing!
Executioner, Drequon and Calibre stood out from the rest. Looking forward to more spins!

If it features exclusive (non-album/ep) songs of (non-Death/Crossover) Metal, I'm definitely interested in a rip!Warepire wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 5:52 pm DaN, I got this Aussie comp on CD that I might be able to find and rip. The kid's vocals is the best part about Innocent Child I think
Check out the promo-material on the band I put up here: http://thecorroseum.org/comps/monochrome.html
There's gotta be an interesting story about this band...
I'm curious about this BEDLAM CHOIR CD: https://www.discogs.com/Bedlam-Choir-Ru ... e/11262473
Logo still looks Metal, the design not so much..
Re: Veterans of the Various-Wars - Vol. 3 out now!

Thanks a lot Dan !
With what do you edit your vinyl rips ? Some of these tracks have fabulous sound !!!
And this is my fave compilation from you.
These are the ones i already knew before your Compi :
Ztorm + Drequon + Calibre - and they all are great tunes.
English Rogues - so so, but i would give a 2nd chance to listen more tracks from them.
Executioner (very cool spacy and proggy brit Hard-Rock) which is pre-Final Conflict (neo-prog very well known for who is into this type of stuff)
Rustic Nerve - now i know why i used to have this on my HD on the meantime vanished - because the 1st minute scared the shit out of me. I'm one of those old-die hards that always hated punk-rock. Real intriguing change of mood in the middle of the track. If there's more like the 2nd half i can buy it.
I know some Menace but not these tracks - probably not the same band. Contacted Boris to enlighten me.
High Treason - these 2 tracks were featured on a CDR that was sold by ex-band members some years back. 11 tracks recorded between 1982 and 1985 me thinks.
Avalanche i know the band - but not these 2 tracks. And both sound terrific as supposed to.
New for me as bands and 1st listening on these tracks :
Strafe more or less like English Rogues but perhaps even better. Will give them obviously a 2nd chance for more tracks.
Cheater (Thanks for including them ! ) - terrific tune ! Really great !
Innocent Child - Loved the tunes. There is more going on besides the childish vocals. Specially on "Burnout". Pretty different from what i usually listen.
Bedlam Choir - There is a Maiden Killers / Di'Anno aura in there. It seems the band was popular in the area after some investigation i made on a Sheffield Forum. There is still people who remembers them. Surely they recorded a demo or two.
And this is my comment on this super cool Compilation. Thanks again Dan for the Fronts for the Backs and for the Innocent Child inserts. Cheers and Beers !!!

Really glad to you all enjoyed it + cheers for the extensive feedback. I was curious about what happened to Executioner, so thanx for the info (will add to page). I don't suppose FINAL CONFLICT sound anything like this Pagan Altar-type epic/doomic stuff?rumblefist wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2019 11:10 pm Thanks a lot Dan !

About editing: Just bought a new stylus, so these rips should sound slightly better than those from the last year. I do all my rips via amp -->wife's macbook (Audacity) --> my PC (good ol' CoolEdit Pro's clicks&pops-filter) ---> Audacity again to convert to mp3.
Damn, how could I have missed that youtube vid?? Hope I find the time to watch it some day...
In the meantime, any CD-buyer curious enough to take a chance on this cheapo?
