Great, old typewriter and copied afterwards. They should still do inserts like that these days!DaN wrote:Good idea, will do. And cheers in advance for your contributions, but remember: no hurry - and leave the ps/piecing-together work to me..doomedplanet wrote:DaN, maybe start a master wantslist and keep it at the top?
About the mysterious THOD insert, I've heard of a few copies that had this typewritten text insert, I might even have a photo of it somewhere, but not a proper hi-res scan. It's one of those that was only included in a very limited number of copies.
For Levi: http://thecorroseum.org/features/insert ... 300dpi.jpg
(And yes, that's exactly the same low quality of the text as on the original insert.)

OP updated. Got a 3-year-old screaming for the computer so I'll fix that want-list tomorrow.

Have to give you ''ein Lob'' for lovely linear notes for the inauguration of the new site feature!
And yeah, 1979 marks the beginning of Time, period!
Funny, I have "studied" this year yesterday. No coincidences, not at all.

Really nice illustration on the Brocas Helm insert, i really miss hand-drawn illustrations on album art.
It's nearly always done on computers these days, and of course there's a definite skill to that as well, but i get nostalgic for sleeves like the Bashful Alley 45 or that Shakespeare 7" or even some of the more rudimentary-but-effective examples like Demon Pact's 'Eaten Alive'.
Oh, and it's about time someone brought back the much maligned lost art of airbrushing too.

@Rob: Thanx! Got 'em and working on them
@Zanker: I think the scanner-settings must have been for text or something. The text on the ShockSplit insert is so tiny I think it really requires a hi-res image scan.
Among other stuff I've scanned the Devil's Records releases I have in my collection. Does anyone know if STEEL ANGEL or the VULCAIN releases came w/ inserts? I hope not
Re: A database of lost inserts - new site feature!
Next time i'm with the car to work i'll try to scan it again. Not easy when the scanner is next to your bosses desk, but i'll give it another go then. I'm not sure i can change the settings of the scanner though.DaN wrote: @Zanker: I think the scanner-settings must have been for text or something. I can scan Valor & Hammerhawk inserts.
My Devils Records Steel Angel and Vulcain lp & 12" EP do not have inserts.
Unfortunately because of this process I see my Shocksplit has no insert either, argh.
