If I'd ever start a fanzine I'd call it Zine Of The Hammer.

Oh, I wouldn't dare to take up your time from the Slovenian Metal Encyclopedia that I think we agreed you should finish

Just one zine addition but it's a MASSIVE one: Metal Warriors #7 from Germany (written in English tho')

No scanner here.
But i have some portuguese zines not featured on the board. Main problem would be no-one would understand portuguese.
And you always said - we should be responsable for the scans of the stuff we should share...i think i'm not far of what you said.

Also i have some international zines a brasilian dude scanned for me - but the condition was that i wouldn't share it...

This was the very first generic zine - January of 1984 (and i was in the team who did this primitive xeroxed zine) :

Folha Metalica (Metallic Page) - it's 1 of the very few who survived to these days and it's in not a good condition (paper gets too old if not protected with plastic bags) :

But this was the real first zine (only dedicated to Judas Priest) - it's from the unnofficial J.P. portuguese fan-club.
Issue number 1 was released in December of 1983.

This issue (number 3) it's from February of 1984 :

As soon as I get decent raise of my monthly pmnt, that I'd be able to hire a foreign provider, around my quarters they simply don't last, and it seems blogosphere has done some damaged "websitesphere". Project not abandoned or forgotten, got a few contacts also. + Sovdy had mentioned there was some sort of similar page tied to or being part of Paranoid zine, but I couldn't find it.

I had to take a small break from the Roadrunner-project...
The Corroseum wrote:2016-12-06 - Some issues of the old Brazilian fanzine Rock Brigade was recently sent to me rather anonymously, and they have now been added to the Fanzine archive. NOTE that some of these were sent as photos and not scans, so the quality isn't as good as we're used to, but I figured it was good enough considering the cool content: 1, 4, 14, 15 and 17.

It's been far too long since we had a fanzine-update. I've upgraded the image galleries for all zine-pages to include larger thumbnails, which should improve the browsing some, made some other minor touch-ups + added 8 more zines: 5 more issues of Metal Meltdown and 3 more of Metallised. Links listed in News as usual. 'appy readin'.

...and as always I'll keep bugging any and all Metalheads out there with old zines, a scanner & time to spare to get in contact if you feel you could contribute.

How about making a list with our favorite 'zines? Here's mine:

1. KICK ASS MONTHLY (USA) For the unique writing style of late Bob Muldowney, opinionated but brutally honest
2. DECIBEL OF DEATH (FRANCE) Tons of underground bands featured and almost always praising the really good stuff
3. METAL MELTDOWN (USA) Thrash/speed metal bible, great reviews by Kluke
4. SLAYER (NORWAY) We all sort of know of its importance
5. CEREBRAL DEVASTATION (USA) Texas metal bible
6. METAL MANIA (USA) Brutal honesty by Ron Quintana and co.
7. STEEL CONJURING (GREECE) Grew up with this, absorbing everything I could at a time with no internet or youtube

Honorable mentions: SCREAMS FROM THE GUTTER, PHOENIX MILITIA, VIOLENT NOIZE, DEATHVOMIT

Would love to read something from ENLIGHTENED CHAOS or MIDWEST MILITIA

I'm having trouble making a list like this since I read these old rags differently now than I would have done at the time of their release. A poorly written zine can still be interesting if it includes some really obscure content, reviews or really rare albums, unknown demo acts etc... For pure reading pleasure nothing beats good ol' ISTEN. I'd also love to one day get my hands on more copies of the hilarious Suck City.

Fanzine update! ...including another design change + the addition of a search function. Which doesn't really 'function' yet.
