Shadowcast comes from Dayton, Ohio and delivered a fine mixture of US Melodic Metal with Power/Progressive touches back on the 80s. Includes the renowned first demo, “Necropolis”. Local station WCWT reviewed and compared them to Fate’s Warning, Queensryche, Leatherwolf and Fifth Angel. “Private Reality” was featured on Clear Channel’s WAZU and had a feature interview on their local music segment. This is the best tribute for Shadowcast to see both demos first time on CD. This band earned a loyal following and packed the house by playing hard hitting originals mixed with metal classics. Already four years ago I was curious about when that Osiris compilaton would be out so much that now I won't even ask why it took so long, just will buy it.
I never heard about the other ones before, but they look interesting too. In fact, all of them sound quite similar, at least when it comes to song structures, only that apparently they always had to choose whether the vocals would be a pure Midnight worship or something more polished, in the vein of Glacier/Gargoyle. So it doesn't surprise me that there is some connection between Wrathskeller and Shadowcast.
There seems to have been plenty of bands in that style back in the late 80s, most of them ending up as demo acts only, something I wouldn't be even aware were it not for labels like yours. Good job in digging out those obscure gems, keep it up!
