Thanks Live and learn, I have deleted it from my wantlist some years ago, coz I thought I won't get it anyway. hmm, seems like I should put it on the list again and open a new conto in the budget.mordred wrote:I bought it from Igor when he advertised a copy for sale right here on the Corroseum. It wasn't cheap that's for sure, but I don't regret it one bit.Noisenik wrote:mordred wrote: Varvar is mega rare
I must have missed sth on the way (no wonder), but I remember hardly anyone has even seen it.
Per-Ola, how the ... have you managed to get it? What have you traded for? Detest (Swe)? Or what sum have you paid for?
Actually a copy was sold on Ebay last christmas as well, for right about the same that I paid for my copy. For me it was the third most expensive record I ever bought (and I have only bought four records in that price range in my life).
DaN has it also, so it does exist and we probably haven't seen the last copy offered but yes it is insanely rare. Who knows, one of these days somebody might uncover 100 unplayed copies in a closed Russian military base and it won't be so rare anymore.

Again that Credo! This is the second or third time you're posting it. It really bothers me ... really ... I need this!mordred wrote:
I'd do a photo collection of my soviet stuff too but that would be surely 10 pics ...
Here's some colombian crap instead:
The Alux Nahual isn't colombian of course, from Guatemala.
not colombian, Guatemala:

Obviously this is not all my Russian/Soviet stuff, just a photo with my nine favorite Russian records musically. I have a lot more surely bit also there is a lot of stuff that can be obtained easily but I don't want to have because It's not any good.
Chroming Rose “Pressure” LP found!
Obviously correct, but some of the shitty soviet records do have quite nice artwork so I couldn't resist to pay 5 $.mordred wrote: Obviously this is not all my Russian/Soviet stuff, just a photo with my nine favorite Russian records musically. You really like Korrozia Metalla? I remember they got even stories in german Metal Hammer Mag back in the day (mostly for their NS background) but when I got my first KM LP I thought huh that's quite punky. Also can't understand the hype around that Oblachnuy Kraj LP (or Varvar - sure it's hyper rare). The others on the pic are obviuously great. Sometimes I wish the soviet bands with records would have got more recognition if they'd only have offered more constant quality. I have a few records that feature 2 or 3 killer Melodic Metal hammers while the other trax on the same album are ridiculous Pop/Rock! If you plan to get your hands on that Combo (Band) LP, then in Satan's name don't do it. The cover says Metal but musically they are Jazz!
It's not easy to be the Antichrist ...
Of course I like Korrozia Metalla. "Orden Satani" and "Russian Vodka" are absolutely classic demonic speed/thrash albums. Might have a small percentage of punk in them but so did Venom and Celtic Frost.Prowler wrote:Obviously correct, but some of the shitty soviet records do have quite nice artwork so I couldn't resist to pay 5 $.

Oblachnyj Kraj might be an acquired taste but I think it's genius and it's wonderful to hear a truly original band that also sounds unmistakably Russian. Another album in the photo that might be an acquired taste is Valkyria, surely not everybody likes that.
As for Varvar though I can't understand how anybody can not love such pounding classic metal with so much power, passion and charizma. It's understandable if you don't like the vocals... but that also makes you less of a man.

I wouldn't say so, it's much more listenable than Korrozia Metalla imo.mordred wrote: Another album in the photo that might be an acquired taste is Valkyria, surely not everybody likes that.
Perhaps, but I'm not really a masochist and I like to torture myself, also no sex with animals ...As for Varvar though I can't understand how anybody can not love such pounding classic metal with so much power, passion and charizma. Hopefully you agree that Legion "Knights of cross" is a totally perverted album?

No way. Valkyria is weird and progressive music with keyboards, Korrozia is much straighter speed/thrash with much catchier songs. You'll easily find a lot more metalheads that like the Korrozia Metalla album in the photo than the Valkyria album.Prowler wrote:I wouldn't say so, it's much more listenable than Korrozia Metalla imo.mordred wrote: Another album in the photo that might be an acquired taste is Valkyria, surely not everybody likes that.
Not sure, I don't have it and I only heard half of it quite some time ago. I seem to remember it as really off the wall weird music that could barely be categorised as metal despite distorted guitars and falsetto vocals. Definitely nothing to be compared to Varvar at any rate.Prowler wrote:Perhaps, but I'm not really a masochist and I like to torture myself, also no sex with animals ...mordred wrote: As for Varvar though I can't understand how anybody can not love such pounding classic metal with so much power, passion and charizma.
