One part on the solo of NARITA sound almost the same as A Light in the Black.
The same with Accept's Breaker (the first riff is almost the same).

As said before, Silver Mountain have lots of Blackmore influence as well.

I'll check the bands/videos posted here now.

Moahni Moahna sounds awesome!!!, specially the track Queen Shamar. Reminded me a bit to Virgin Steele as well.

nice feedback guys, that Lady was pretty cool after a while, the first song has a guitar sound that could almost be psych, probably was the bad production

I always thought of Nightwing as more Deep Purple sounding, but yes they are a good fit.

If you've any interest in 80s (AOR) Rainbow then you can't go wrong with the Swiss Stormbringer.

Well, think what you will of him, but Yngwie "Bloody" Malmsteen is a huge Rainbow freak. (Though not a fairy, me beknownst.)

Must clear the air: WOMEN, LEATHER AND HELL!!!

From newer band try the first 3 of Astral Doors. Not exclusively 100% Rainbow-worship by definitely influenced by every band Dio has sung in.
They must have more Rainbow-influenced songs but this represantive of their style (and one of their best songs):

PS. I see you are looking for 80s bands but whatever...
PS2 Try also the mighty Sorcerer:

LYNX from Sweden (1985).
They've got a slight "Gates of Babylon" touch in their Music, especially in this song:

Guitar virtuoso from Turkey; Cem Koksal. Debute albüm set me free was very Malmsteenish. Second siyah beyaz masallar is better w female vocals and more JL Turner's Rainbow sound. And he released a live albüm w JL Turner...
