FIRSTAID - 3.14 - 12" EP (1989) FRENCH METAL FDM 3.14

Post by Fils Du Metal »

Known most people as REMY - Firstaid 12" we have a masterpiece in French metal or French instrumental metal.

FIRSTAID - 3.14

Rémy Mereu recorded 3 tracks:

3.14
ELLYPSE
PRINCESSE DE L'OMBRE

in 1989 and put them on a record with this cover design:

Maybe you know the record already from the Metalpage (http://www.metalpage.de/reviews/france/ ... staid.html)

there still with wrong band name/record title but the review fits 110 %.

Especially the two instrumentals are the best I heard from France since a long time. Track "3.14" comparable to "Guernica" from JUMPER LACE" or on "Ellypse" sometimes sounding like old SLAYER with "Raining Blood".

The third track is a nice ballad with vocals, we should ask Rémy why he didn't add some vocals to those first two and this would be the number 1 French metal record.

I was no fan of instrumentals either but since I had this record I listened to it (without exaggeration) about 150 times and cannot forget this great guitar riffing for days after listening.

After I bought the record on ebay.com quite expensive for my French metal collection I immediately started looking for the band means Monsieur Rémy Mereu.

He still had a dead stock of the record but it was not well stored and so it took me almost 2 months to check each single copy :-(
There are a lot of perfect ones but many are EX+ or EX- with either a slight wave or a wavy cover or the record had to be cleaned.

Ending today I finished it Cinderella-like and now I have the good ones sorted out and the bad ones sorted out.

Instead of guarding this record and trying to sell those copies as collectors for high collectors prices I decided to sell those copies as if they were on my Fils Du Metal label so I offer them like a semi-release of FDM calling it FDM 3.14 according to the record title...(with Rémy's ok for sure)

Profit is not the point I am doing this, I will be happy ending zero/zero selling it for a fair price hoping it works that way.

I will ship to anywhere in the world for 15 € unregistered shipping included!!! Inside Germany it is 15,50 € Hermes parcel shipping included! (funny what???) :-) (Registration outside Germany is another 2,05 € if payment by paypal please plus the fees or it will not work out)

Support French Metal and the chance to get this formerly rare 12" for a fair price now as original pressing from 1989! THANKS!

Great record and just FYI the instrumentals also sound great on 33. I was listening to it not getting the Malmsteen references when I noticed half way through it was supposed to be on 45.......ah, thats better!
