I'm no fan of Nuclear Blast either, but I'll probably get both CD and LP. Hope the deal works out in the best possible way for band and fans.
I know I ain't doing much,
doing nothing means a lot to me.

I hope so. I'm glad they found a good deal for them with one of the most powerful metal label... But how N.B. will deal with them ? The main aim of a such a label is to earn money and 98% of the nowadays metalheads who usually buy N.B. stuff have never heard of HELL and will surely not spend their money in buying their CD or LP.

You are 100% right, my friend. So it's up to us to make new metal fans aware of us - by touring, doing festivals and shows wherever/whenever we can, promoting, just everything possible. We don't plan to sit on our asses in blind hope. HELL was always one of the hardest-working bands of the 80's, we will try and prove that our workrate capability is equally high this time around.

When a door like this opens up in front of you - you don't walk through it, you fucking RUN. Although people on this forum know about the band's history, the same 98% won't know (or give a shit, probably), so for us it's like a ground-level situation, we're just starting out and it's up to us to prove ourselves.

You are also completely right about record companies signing bands to earn money. These guys are hard-nosed business people, they work in a very competitive industry which they know inside-out. So - if HELL's music didn't have much wider potential, I take the view that these labels would not have been interested in signing us.

Only time will tell......but I'm going to love the ride

Best wishes, Kev

I think you're taking the right approach here. You have to treat the scenario that you're in as though you are starting fresh with a new band, with no legacy, no past, because to the vast majority of potential consumers, you have no past. You have to work your ass off to even be noticed. Your goal needs to be "the hot new band", not "the legend resurrected", because that means nothing to most people. But the attention of multiple record labels is a very promising start.

HELL March promo release

As a prequel to the release of the ‘Human Remains’ album, Nuclear Blast will be releasing a double A-side promo single on 4th March. The single will feature edited versions of ‘Save Us From Those Who Would Save Us’, along with ‘On Earth As It Is In Hell’ on the flip. Both of these are the newly-recorded versions which have been cut down a little to maintain maximum quality on the vinyl.

NB will only be producing an extremely limited number of these (only 666 copies), and the 7” vinyl will be a picture disc. The single will, however, also be available as a digital download from the Nuclear Blast website from the release date.

We’re sorry to inform you that the planned video track which was originally due to appear on the album is now no longer possible. Because the album’s run time is almost 67 minutes (value for money, or what?) the only way to fit the video track on would have been to compress the hell out of it which would have resulted in a hideous viewing experience. We’ve therefore decided to stream it instead, so anyone who wants a proper, uncompressed version can download it for free.

Best wishes

Like back in the eighties, I just couldn't listen to Savatage due to the Atlantic aura, Maiden due to the EMI aura, Priest due to the CBS aura, Motörhead due to that ugly Bronze aura, Sabbath due to the Vertigo aura...

If the music is good I will certainly buy this Hell album. I believe I'm capable of making my own decisions and I won't leave EMI/Nuclear Blast/Buried by Time and Dust Records to decide.

And of course I said that with love and affection for the Max Plänk/Bleak House/Apocalypse/Gaskin/Street Child... contributions you've made possible in my record collection.

And somehow EMI doesn't manage to call forth the same emotions in me - unregarding their massive Maiden output.

I wouldn't regear if I had Maiden either, those guys were heading for the top.
Are you the tyrant, who cast them to the sea?
One day you'll be among the dead.

Since the forum keeps re-setting I have to post this yet again:
For those around Sweden who are dying to see HELL I can inform that they will be making an appearance on Rockstad Falun during the second day (June 4th).
According to HELL this is the only visit to Sweden they are making in 2011.

Tickets can be probably be bought at the entrance but the safest way to get them is at the website www.rockstadfalun.se

For those planning to go both days: Go with the campsite. All hotels, cabins, apartments etc in a 5 mile radius was 98% booked up in December already, and I booked the last cabin in January.
