Chronicles from the dark throne! vol-2
Here we go again, with some old stuff and some new one! As usual, these are bands I do enjoy on a personal level, so everybody is free to like or dislike what I propose you here. Remember, that every now and then you can find band wjhich are NOT METAL AT ALL, though they represent a minority here. Just feel free to react and to give also some links to other bands you enjoy!

RECENT BANDS:

HERPES: a young but talented death metal newcomer from France. They sound like a very good mixture of AUTOPSY and DEATH BREATH. I like the vocals a lot too!

BLIZZARD the band of my good old pal Jan, the new albums rocks! If you're into filthy rocking metal with balls. Think of WARFARE, MOTORHEAD, EAT MY FUK, and I'm sure you'll love it! Good to see them back with a killer album!

AGE OF TAURUS, yeah the band is in our top friends already, but hey it is too good to be ignored. Awesome Doom metal, with really personnal and awesome vocals. For a first demo, the sound is simply incredible! I'm even jealous! It's too good! hahaha!

PROCESSION from CHile, yeah they start to have a wide and good recgnotion in the scene at the moment, but I can't help mentionning them, simply because they rule! Their "the cult of disease" is to become a classic! I'm pretty sure of that. Not to forget that the band is about to unleash an album in the running of 2010!

UNAUSSPRECHLICHEN KULTEN is also from Chile, but this time the band deals with total death metal! Obscure, underground to the bone and signed on the almighty Proselytism records. You should check out their two great albums "wake up in the night of walpurgis" and people of the monolith"

ELEKTRIK GEM, 14 musicians gathering to form the GRAND ENSEMBLE DE LA MEDITERRANEE! The aim is to mix the traditionnal music from mediterranean shores (Bulgaria, Greece, Maghreb, Turkey, etc), and the result is pretty unique, intricate and brings a lot of fresh air on traditions! Everybody who loves music should give them a listen. On stage I can say that this is quite an experience to witness!!!

LES VIOLONS BARBARES, a trio which mixes influences from Bulgaria, Mongolia and Europe. It sounds quite unique as well, and the band is about to record its first album very soon. A refreshing dose of authenticity and energy. You might be surprised by the vocals of Enkh Jarghaln, using the diphonic chant technique! It just sounds awesome in the context of this band!

BANDS OF OLD:

TEMPEST: Aweosme musicianship for this proto hard rock combo. The first album "Living in fear" is a true jewel of rocking frenzy! I just love the opening track "funeral empire"!

DEMISE from Portland, was a very good deathrashing act, that never got the chance to release an album, but the demos are of very good quality. Especially the vocals are quite unique when it comes to death metal.

MIASMA, arrrrgh one of the best death metazl bands from Austria! Their song "BAPHOMET" is definitely a highlight. Too bad that this band quit too early and somehow remains quite forgotten. The music is brutal, deep, raging and utterly dark! The band seems to be active again, and we should expect a new album soon!

ODIN early 70's rock, quite obscure but full of feeling, this band coming from UK has recorded in Germany a very good album

FLOWER TRAVELLIN' BAND, was so unique as well! Hailing from Japan, the band started as a cover band. That's what you can hear on their first album called "anywhere", with killer covers of BLACK SABBATH, KING CRIMSON, among others. But that's their secodn album "Satori" which really left a huge impact on rock music. A definitely highlight, with insane vocals and a haunting electric sitar! All the weirdos out there should enjoy this band, that many among you might already know.

Hell yeah! Our new page is up. There you can listen to 2 new tracks from the forthcoming album called "A tale of decadence" to be released in December 2010 on EMANES METAL records. You might as well enjoy our video trailer.

We're most definitely proud of what we achieved with this new output, notably thanks to the tremendous work of A.O.D Patrick Engel on the mix and mastering.

"Having opened theirs ears to the universe of 70’s hard and progressive rock as well as to bands like BROCAS HELM and SLOUGH FEG, the Résistance members decided to compose a concept album based on the novel of Lewis called “the monk”. The eerie and colourful vibe of the album has been strengthened by the collaboration of guest musicians like The overtly melancholic Lord Strange of THE LAMP OF THOTH’s fame on vocals. Kalevi Uibo of BLOODY SIGN’s fame hammered some Hammond organ lines. And Dimitar Gougov of BOYA/ LES VIOLONS BARBARES added his haunting gadulka (a traditional Bulgarian hurdy-gurdy) to the whole. Expect a theatrical and intricate piece of metal by a band eager to conquer the hearts and souls of the music fanatics."
