Rare/bargain compilations (not mine)

Post by Keir »

I spend a lot of time searching eBay, GEMM, and other places for rare compilations. Lately most of what I find I already have and sometimes I see some real bargains pass by. I figured it was time to share some of these, and hopefully help some people out.

Here's a very hard to find radio comp which is usually fairly pricey due to the 2 Lust tracks with Ron Keel (glockose’s copy sold for $48.)[Read more.]
Rock 106 Presents Homegrown ($30 BIN)

Rare and recommended Cleveland metal comp on eBay. [Read more.]
Cleveland's Heavy Metal: Etched in Steel ($9.99 no bids, but kind of beat up)

This next one’s not incredibly cheap, but it doesn’t turn up that often. [Read more.]
Green Metal: New Irish Heavy Metal ($39.99 no bids, ends real soon)

Alternativemusic.com used to have all the WCMF comps, and Dynamic Artists, but unfortunately all they have left is vol. 3. [Read more.]
WCMF 96: Homegrown 3 ($3.99)

Think I'll pass on these, but thanks for the heads-up! Nice of you to share the info in case someone wants these and didn't see them being offered

A Swedish dealer I know has still-sealed copies of the Northcoast Steel LP for €30-40 if anyone's interested...

Hi Dan,

I still need a copy of Northcoast Steel for my collection. Can you help me? Will your friend trade also? If not I buy for sure..

Nice of you Keir to drop some bargain info down here.

What about a general bargain thread?

Way Kool Records also has that one for $35.

If someone wants to turn this into a general bargains thread that's fine with me.

That's definitely a good price for the Connecticut comp... too bad it isn't any good.

Both WAVA comps at least have some hard rock, don't know about metal though. I've been waiting to find them for $5 or less to pick them up.

I think that Hollywood Underground is a band, not a comp.

This Chicago Metal Works Battalion #1 might not end up cheap, but I thought some people might be looking for it. [Read more.]

Good find. Someone definitely needs to snag that!

On a similar note, here is the comp with the DOMAIN track I posted earlier. The $10 BIN is a fair price, but an $8 Best Offer would be a good deal. [Read More.]

Boston Rock & Roll Anthology Volume #5

Didn't know about that one. Thanks! Looks like it's not that hard to find either. Here is the tracklisting from another auction:

side 1
1) stilletto - crooked cross
2) pull my finger - time square
3) detonator - pit and the pendulum
4) no warning - the most selfish act
5) modern art - dark side
6) caryl & swing party - can't wait

side 2
1) horizon - hit below the belt
2) the living end - cast no shadows
3) kyllroi - venemous kiss
4) the by and by - plains of glory
5) lithuanian snake dance - you're the one
6) oblivion - social disease
7) cell division - certain someone

Thanks Alan.

Chicago Metal Works #7 is on eBay right now. Pretty weak as far as that series goes unfortunately.

Metal Meltdown II isn't really rare, but definitely worth getting and right now it's at $9 with no bids.

You hardly ever see Metal Hour: German Metal Tracks No 4 though it is a bit of a mixed bag.
