Decent stuff with no modern influence. Basically staying true to what Metal should be.

Although, I have no idea what the hell "Medieval Metal" is?

Don't take it too literally, it's just a tagline that fits the lyrical themes and imagery  The font in the upcoming tape release is actually medieval though.

Of course I'm not going to take it literally, it's the internet...

I just find no reason to categorize every new band based on the lyrics. Especially when it's nothing ground breaking that's been done a thousand times over. If that was the case there would be a million pointless sub-genre's.

Whatever floats your boat though. I guess I'm currently listening to "Space Metal" then

Why???? In epic metal do they use swords instead of guitars? :P Is "heavy metal " only played with hammers hitting the anvils? Or is death metal, played by the dead for the dead???? :P
A bit naive my comparisons, I know, but I think you get my point. The tags/labels in metal are not to be taken literally ofcourse but exist to describe the sense the listener receives from the music. So 'medieval metal" means that the musician using this term, aims at taking us mentally to the medieval times. I don't understand the ill or even well-intentioned buzz about the term.

Just recently noticed this, seems like bands have come up with unneccessary new genres to annoy Avenger since the 80's

I'm liking the archaic production. The eponymous track "Chevalier" is perfect and so is "The Sorcerer" and "The Awakening" is great too, can't make my mind which is the best. You make me slightly prouder of Funland.
