Quicksand Dream - Beheading Tyrants (2016)

I have been absent here for the past few years and I guess my returning here only to spam about some new QD stuff should make me blush with shame. Well, despite my supposedly rosy cheeks I am still curious to learn what people might think of the music we've come up with. So for anyone concerned, here are a few words and a link to one of the tunes that Decibel Magazine decided worthy of sharing. It might be up your alley, or it might make you blush too.

It's kind of hard to compete with van Gogh. But we gave it a shot.

Great, great song and awesome guitar work !
It sounds like a mix of Aelin era with some up tempo NWOBHM finest moments !!
Can't wait to listen to the whole album !

Makes me happy to hear. I guess we might have lost some of the quirkiness of Aelin that was inevitable – but not necessarily voluntary
– due to the restricted resources we had during the recording. Aelin was mostly put down for us to have the tunes documented and for our personal enjoyment. I guess not much has changed, haha!
Still I hope there are a few decent tunes offered here too. Some of the musical material used on BT actually dates from back in the days when Aelin was conceived. I got an old tape with various riffs and melodies Patrick sent to me back in the nineties. I remember a sequence I adored that still hasn't been used. I should dig out again.

Reminds me a bit of Pagan Altar.....good stuff.....first album & Epic Irae demos were killer too....

I don't mind that comparision.
I guess we might share a certain fondness over Jethro Tull (and Black Sabbath). Cool to see you've heard those old EI things too. Cheers!
