If I leave I'll be dead by morning, if I stay it's all the same
Insane from a thousand sorrows, what's my name again? I don't know...
Past the graves of a million dreams, swallow all and fade away
What I do or I don't it seems damned all anyway -damned to hell

They called me a fool for my choice of career
I'm the winds of war that will blow you away,
Sure as I'm standing here.
Wings are for angels, wings are for angels...

SHINE ON MARK!
Solo i morti hanno visto la fine della guerra.

I didn't know that he was ill so this is a real shock. Anyone know what illness he had?

So sad. Also because the band was on the rise again.

I discovered RIOT in the mid nineties when I was hosting a metal show on the local radio station. After the show was done I sniffed through the archives of the radio station, and found the "Metal Mania"-compilation on vinyl. Last track on that record was "Road Racin'". I played that song the following show.

RIP Mark.

Yes. That's what the article says. But that was under the assumption he would return. They might even continue the tour. But writing new material without him isn't right.

Thanks Helstar.

I think to continue the tour would be an absolute disgrace. Hopefully they wont.

Without Mark Riot has no reason to exist,I only hope the band will be able to make one last tour before quitting...just to make the ultimate gift to the fans...Immortal Soul deserves to be played live!

I think they should play the dates booked so far as a tribute to Reale. And to raise some money for funeral etc charity, whatever.

And RIP, most underrated songwriter ever. Huge loss to heavy metal. Shine on!

I had the great honor of seeing Riot perform the day before Mark's death and the day after as well, with a single guitarist. The singer of Hammerfall also went onstage with them and did a duet of "Flight of the Warrior". Both gigs were fucking legendary and the speech that Tony Moore gave to the crowd when he announced the death of Mark Reale will forever be burned into my memory. The shows were superb, despite the lingering sadness that hung over the events. Riot were ahead of their time and fantastic, and I'll love those records until the day I die.

Setlists were thus:
‎- instrumental intro
- Fight or Fall
- Riot
- Road Racing
- Johnny's Back
- Still Your Man
- Flight of the Warrior
‎- Metal Soldiers
- Warrior
- Swords and Tequila
- Fire Down Under
- Thundersteel
