So Karl Logan phoned me this evening...

Post by msp »

There I was, just got a fish pie out of the oven ready to feed my wife, sister, brother in law and two nieces when the phone rings. I answer it and there is some American dude at the other end.

Immediately i think it is someone trying to sell me water pipe insurance but it turns out to (allegedly) be Karl Logan of Manowar thanking me for buying a ticket for their London show in November. I'll be honest I did not really know what to say to him apart from looking forward to seeing them.

Anyone else get a call? Is this normal when they tour? Part of me thinks it was Vikrant in a Mumbai call centre doing a good impression of an American dude...

Another commercial trick of theirs? Who knows. But most of all, who cares?

Yeah - heard of several people getting calls off the band for buying tickets.

For a fucking £50 ticket price I'd be expecting a handjob along with the phone call.

Don't knock it. He's certainly a dexterous man.

So, do you think you'll keep in touch or was it a one call stand?

It would be an awesome "step forward" in this world if things went on to "one call stands" haha :)

Manowar's current ticket prices are unbelievably high.

I saw them about 7 years ago; it was probably the worst show I've ever seen. First time I had ever walked out of a show. They were absolutely wretched and the cheese factor- which doesn't bother me much on their albums- was unbearable.

Watched them live 5 times, if you count the soundcheck that makes it 6.

Can't wait to watch them again!

Best performance ever was at MCF II, first 6 whole albums! BEST CONCERT IN MY LIFE!

I'll second that if we are talking about the band from today's perspective.
