Just checked it out, now it's on my purchase queue, thanks!

But it's not news that bands like this pop up, now we're pretty used to it, here's a bunch of others:
Enforcer (Sweden)
Portrait (Sweden)
Ghost (Sweden)
Holy Grail (USA)
Skull Fist (Canada)
White Wizzard (USA)
Helvetets Port (Sweden)

I think you should distinguish more between pure retro acts like GHOST or DEVIL and bands like ENFORCER for example who just play traditional heavy metal.
Where were you in '79 when the dam began to burst

Then I guess I am a tad tone deaf because I cannot see any real difference between the retro and the trad. heavy metal of the kind that I listed.

Yep there are many bands that play oldscool and retro but they are not all the same and I think Graveyard is not exactly like Portrait, Enforcer or In Solitude.

In the case of Graveyard this is really a Deep Purple/Zeppelin/something worship, without the cheesy occult/satan side of a Ghost or The Devil's Blood (which I find cool by the way).

Graveyard, along with Swedish competitors Witchcraft, play hard rock with a psychedelic / doomy edge, much like 70's Pentagram.

And they are three times better live than on record. I think I've seen them 5 or 6 times now, and they've never disappointed me. When I saw them live in Malmö earlier this spring, the venue was filled to the brim. Half the crowd were old psych/metalheads like myself and the rest were young pop/rock fans who like to experiment with their musical tastes.

When the gig was over and the nightclub started, the first song played on the dance floor was the original version of "Be Forewarned".

GRAVEYARD are Hard Rock, the others mentionned besides GHOST are Heavy Metal.

The first GRAVEYARD is better than Hisingen Blues IMO.
An actual similar record i really liked much is BLOOD CEREMONY.

Besides that, go and check out bands from the 70ies, there are the better ones !
Similar to GRAVEYARD and great are JERUSALEM from the UK.

Yes there are many good bands in the 70's, but what I like with bands like Graveyard is that you got a level of power that some 70's didn't have at the time, simply because of the evolution of music. So even if they don't invent something, it's cool to hear "21th century" 70's Metal.

And aybe this is all we can have now becaus "all had been done" in this niche.

When i am hearing this i must think immediately at this one ;

This second is from 94 with slightly grungy and alternative overtones, but it's brilliant !

If you want something in the vein of Graveyard, check out the new Gentleman's Pistols album- At Her Majesty's Pleasure. It's brilliant.

No laughing at Monster Magnet! They were amazingly good some 20 years ago, made some of my fave albums of all time. Though, on second thought, laughing at them is pretty unavoidable. These days they are a parody on what they were.

@Knut: I was merely laughing at my mentioning of them - since they played those Hawkwindish, Sabbathy riffs adding loads of power (sonically speaking) and since I'm soooo-ooold that to me they are a "new" act (just like Graveyard). I have never followed them though and I have nothing against them.
