KK DOWNING Leaves JUDAS PRIEST!!

Post by bigfootkit »

British rockers Judas Priest today announced that guitarist and founding member K.K. Downing has broken with the band after 40 years of service.
In a statement on the official Judas Priest website the band announced “with regret” that Downing has retired and will not be joining them on their forthcoming tour.
Downing will be replaced by British guitarist Richie Faulkner who previously played with Lauren Harris.

Dear friends,
It is with much regret that I will not be with you this summer.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your concerns about my health.
Please rest assured that I am O.K.
There has been an ongoing breakdown in the working relationship between myself, elements of the band, and the band’s management for some time.
Therefore I have decided to step down rather than to tour with negative sentiments, as I feel that this would be a deception to you, our cherished fans.
However I would urge you to please support the Priest as I have no doubt that it will be a show not to be missed.
All my love and respect,
KK

They should just stop now. I know you can argue about original members etc etc but it doesn't look like Judas Priest to me without KK Downing.

Agree, it means nothing without KK. They should better cancel the whole tour !

That replacement looks like a serious poser.

I'm not so sure I still want to see 'em live. Maybe if they reduce the tickets prices. Which would be fair.

There's a Rob Halford interview in a french mag, he's saying that KK told the band he want to quit around last Christmas. I wonder why they only reveal this now, maybe not to affect ticket sales ...

It's weird that he left just before the last tour of the band. Not cool for the crowd.

Me I always hoped that The Priests would dare to do a few Conceptual Tours, maybe first concentrating on their 70's output, then their 80's dito etc...
Guess this wet dream of mine is even more unlikely to happen now :(

I find it a bizarre decision to leave just before the last tour :?

i totally understand his decision. as a musician i wouldnt stand to do a farewell tour with negative feeling towards the band and the people sorrounding him, at end it would be even worse for K.K.

Terrible news. But something's smelling funny in that story...

Judas Priest without KK is just not Judas Priest!
TO THE DEATH!!!
