FIRASAH - Si Penanggal - 7EP out !

Post by Mr Nuke »

I've read some words about this band here, but no annoucement, so I do it.

Info I've got :

"They play malaysian traditional heavy metal like the early days. The frontman of the band is from Panama and played with Los Assesinos De Pentagram before. Musicwise, it is close to Rockers,Crossfire(malay one) & Junction (petualang era)." (Label description)

Out on Gempita Records since a few weeks.

Prices :
11Euro (including register postage for Green vinyl), 10Euro (including register post for Black vinyl).)

Contact : gempita.records AT gmail DOT com

On a personal opinion, this EP is growing on me and got repeated listens tonight. It has some reminiscences from LOS ASESINOS too, and the guitar work is great IMO, especially on lead guitar.

They better play 60% ballads then or their Malaysian Steel would not be very true at all

The term 'Malaysian Steel' is a bit contradictive...

At least the record is quite to my taste, and to some others. I know Malay bands enough to know what you mean, but here there's no ballads in sight.

By the way, JUNCTION's LP has no ballad, if my memory serves well.

Personally I really love the Malay scene, one of my faves. They are leaning more towards Hard Rock, but I love when a scene has its own style.
About Firasah, I need to take a listen! Hope they have also plenty of those great twin lead guitars many Malay bands used to have....

I'd go so far as to say it's the best 7" of 2010. Incredibly catchy stuff.
