Very sad news, a major loss for the metal word.

This totally sucks, just a few days after Frazetta. A lot of great people is dying this year, Dennis Hopper is on the waiting list as well.

So sad. Not only was he a great singer and a metal legend, but he was one of the nicest and most humble rock stars of all time. R.I.P.

Very sad to hear of his passing. One of the few singers I've seen who always impressed me live, never disappointing. I must have seen him perform more than 10 times, now he has fallen silent. :(

He did die young, he still had at least 5 years left with his voice...

full respect to a legend in every meaning of the word.

only got to see him live once, in 2007 with heaven and hell, but it was a barnburner.

what makes it really sad for me is that my dad died of stomach cancer like dio, and if it was like anything like what my dad went through, RJD did not die peacefully and comfortably...

RONNIE JAMES DIO

I WILL NEVER FORGET THE GIFT THE DARK GODS SENT
IN DAYS OF MY YOUTH, LONG GONE AND SPENT
A VOICE LIKE THUNDER ROLLED OUT OF NOWHERE
AND BORE ME ON BAT-LIKE WINGS THROUGH THE AIR
A WITCHES' BLACK SABBATH OPENED THE DOOR
TO THIS SPHERE OF FANTASIA, I COULD ONLY WANT MORE
I HEARD A SNAKE CHARMER PIPING, STRANGE, IN THE NIGHT
AS I SAILED ON SABLE, WEIRDLING-VANS IN MY FLIGHT
OUT PAST A RAINBOW, SHIMMERING IN THE DARK
IN EGYPT, I HEARD THE JACKAL GODS BARK
IN THE DEPTHS OF THE HOLY DIVER, I WAS SET FREE
TO RANGE AND REVEL WITH THE CHILDREN OF THE SEA
WITH A VOICE FORGED IN DARKNESS OF INVINCIBLE STEEL
YOU TOOK ME TO PLACES WHERE MAGICK IS REAL
NOW YOU'VE GONE BEYOND TO WHAT WILD, WEIRD CLIME?
BUT YOUR MIGHTY SOUNDS SHALL RESOUND DOWN THROUGH TIME

May he rest in peace.

I'm sure he will be singing from the sky.

Long live to Ronnie.

He was my hero for close to 30 years. What a fantastic musical legacy he has left behind him for us to enjoy.
I know I ain't doing much,

Hats off, voice of metal has left the building.

Dio in Wacken 04 is the gig I'll remember until the grave. Pure magic.
