Sanctuary re-unites to record new album

Post by Black Axe »

NEVERMORE frontman Warrel Dane has announced that his late '80s cult metal outfit SANCTUARY will reunite to record a new studio album. "[I've] been talking with Lenny [Rutledge, former SANCTUARY guitarist]," Dane explains. "We are really good friends again and it feels good." He adds, "I missed my relationship with him for many years."
Oh no, is all I can say. I highly doubt it'll be anywhere near as good.

Guess Nevermore is running out of steam (about time!). Can't imagine this will be the least bit interesting

Forbidden's at least still really good live. How bad did Dane's vocals burn out? Is it worse sounding than Cory Clarke with Trouble?

I just found out that Sanctuary is playing at this year's Progpower festival. That to me is way more interesting than a new album! Does anyone know if they are touring/doing other shows?

EDIT: Well, apparently they did one show last week in Seattle. I found a clip:

I saw a clip of them doing Battle Angels, and to be frank, Dane couldn't pull it off, regardless of how genuinely he tried, and because of that I really don't see this reunion as worthwhile from my perspective.

New album - not really interested. But a live show to sing my head off along the classic tunes - I'm all for that and can't care less if Warrel can pull the high-pitches or not.
