Recently obtained a CD version of this and was curious about its origins. I can't find any information other than metal blade version on LP from '86 and a japanese reissue from '99 on CD. Are there other CD versions from the 80s?

I've seen a Metal Blade Records CD of this, but I am a little uncertain of it's legitimacy. Could you post pictures of it? (booklet, back, CD face and play-side) It could help us tell you more about it.

Looks pretty legit like this, but I would need to see the matrix area of the playing side to tell for sure. (as I requested previously also)
(What's interesting about this CD which makes me doubt it's legitimacy is that compared to other Metal Blade CDs not a lot of people seem to own this one)

this looks like the japanese pressing from 1990 on Pony Canyon with different catalog number.
which the russians apparently bootlegged:

EDIT: Grimlord cracked it. It's always funny when they replicate CDs that don't exist. (Chastain anyone?

I'll try to get better pictures of later of everything including the matrix side.
Matrix reads: MBRCD 1072-2 11+++
I question its authenticity for the same reasons; I've never seen another CD copy or heard of one existing besides the Japanese repress.
edit: looks pretty much identical to the one from that eBay auction but the blue coloring on my cover is darker vs. the one in the picture. I also got mine on eBay in a mysterious circumstance. I lost the auction for it then was immediately offered a "second chance" offer from the seller. It was cheap enough so I went for it but still...

From what i remember the was only a jap CD pressing.
Thats why back in 1988 i bought the tape version of this one!
CD versions for US/Europe with the same artwork were released around 1993, but with 'Best Of' as title.
