You can laugh now, but until early 2011 there was a mexican selling sealed copies of this one for 70-80$ each one ... and after selling some the latest copies were UNSOLD ! :?

I had already my Grindcore version so I never cared about those... black/green pictured cd rulez :P

you sure it was until 2011?
i remember seeing sealed copies in 2010/early 2011 going unsold for 150+
i would have snatched them up had i seen them 70-80. i do recall seeing them go for cheap in 09 and earlier tho.

I own both copies and listen to the AM copy more
i prefer the heavier sound coming from the riffs. although I have nothing bad to say about the grindcore. it's a fine copy as well and most definitely better than the keltic version. :O

proof that the grindcore version is faster below:

Didn't know this, interesting ! So the Grindcore version is a little bit speeded up ? :o

Oh wait, it could be the other way round (AM is little bit slower) ...

Can anybody confirm what's the correct speed ? :?

in an old ms interview
a band member said the grindcore was sped up and the only way to hear the right version was to find the demo.
maybe he never listened to the am version :lol:
haven't heard the demo yet, but would like to compare the am version to it.
ill go look for the interview

top = grindcore
bottom = am

grindcore seems to have come from a better master(not a sound engineer, just guessing) but it's sped up.

AM is from the vinyl master, so it suffers from the limitations inherent from those types of transfers.

both are flawed but in different ways.
i guess well never get a perfect copy on cd. original vinyl on AM is probably the closest we can get to a perfect copy.
anyone willing to make a 24bit vinyl rip? :lol:

the Avanzada edition of Spectrum Of Death sounds way low and that kind of a turn off ever time i play it.

I would love to listen to the better mastered version

The Power Play version is supposed to be remastered. I don't know about the other versions though.

I ripped my copy before I sold it. Unsure whether I have the original 24/48 source files but I do have the processed 16/48 conversion if you'd like to hear it. Honestly it isn't all that great of a pressing. I preferred the grind core myself (never noticed it being faster, interesting! But I haven't heard the AM CD).

Didn't expect so much at the end for a copy in just "Good" condition:

Some of his other auctions ended very high too:

Interesting conversation about the Morbid Saint CD's.

I'm glad to have got my Avanzada Metallica copy back in the mid 2000's still sealed from some random guy in texas for peanuts.

Also I wonder if the Spectrum Of Death-interlude is meant to be that washy or a result of the bad rip on the Avanzada-rip. :)
