I have this - there's no label info on it. Do you know more about it?Helstar wrote:http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0606789356

I have it too. It's a bootleg (not a fake replica, just illegal pressing) and SURELY not made when the banana says (...on purpose, just to sell it more easily). A better guess would be mid-late 00s.

I have the First Holy Terror CD but we aren't talking about that one. You cannot dispute that IFPI Codes came into effect in 1994.Warepire wrote:While I don't have the Holy Terror CDs specifically I have other Japanese CDs and I just checked, most of them have the same Kanji-character in front of the price as in front of the later date. Therefor I discredit your reasoning that the later date is guaranteed to be the release-date.Avenger wrote:I discredited that for reasons already stated. 1995 Makes sense to me.Warepire wrote: Read Gigadeth's post a few posts up. The later date is for how long the price written on the OBI / CD is valid. So the later date is not the valid one, but if the CD has IFPI codes it suggests that the early date isn't valid either. It's a mess.

maybe you don't read japanese. but this japanese database say the release date of this Holy Terror is 21th OCT 1993. but they was pressed only one time? maybe no. they might be repressed many times after 1993, and the matrix code can be changed. i have asked some japanese sellers for the matrix code of 1st japanese press. but nobody knew that. people believe his CD is 1st japanese press if the catalog number is the oldest one. and such thinking is good for their health.

I have never seen a copy without an IFPI code in over 10 years.Heathen wrote:Maybe if the date is 1993-1995 then there can be versions pressed throughout these years, early ones without ifpi, and later runs with ifpi?Avenger wrote:I discredited that for reasons already stated. 1995 Makes sense to me.Warepire wrote: Read Gigadeth's post a few posts up. at least mindwaves still sells at "normal" prices(60 average)
used to sell for a little more, but too many bad/lukewarm reviews killed the hype.
now the first cd is the one with all the hype

the site is not such one users can update as like http://www.metal-archives.com. one of the company's service running the website is to sell various data for music. do you read japanese? i can read japanese. and the insert of Holy Terror is saying that the CD was released on 1993.Avenger wrote:User updated databases are full of errrors.
by the way, Violence "Eternal Nightmare" Japanese CD has "at least" 2 different versions. same obi and a little different disc. i don't know if both has same matrix code but i remember there is a web site where is comparing the 2 different versions a couple years ago.

here is a good example for release date. you know the release date of new Hellween cd is 2013. and you can read two date from the back insert (even if you can't read japanese)
one is "13.1.16" and the other is "13.7.15 まで (= to)"
that means the cd was released on 16th JAN 2013, and the retail price will be validated to 15th JULY 2013. (it seems the retail price is validated for 6 months nowadays)
do you still believe the release date of new Helloween CD is 15th JULY 2013,

I don't know about that Helloween CD but my guess regarding the Onslaught CD is the first date is the date when the license was acquired and the second was the date the actual CD was released like copyright and publishing dates on other records.gigadeth wrote:http://auctions.c.yimg.jp/img389.auctio ... 991769.jpg
