Years ago I came across the site of Ritchie Newton. At that time the site was much simpler. There was a reference to Ritchie's early projects. The list was as follows:

Ritchie V. and Tyrax - Pleasure Of Life / Woman In Doubt - 7'' - 1986
Pussy Lover - Rainbows In Your Eyes - 10'' - 1989
Ritchie V. - When Children Cry / Come Give Me Your Love - 7'' - 1989
Ritchie V. - Saxanna / Flames Of Memories / Forever You - 7'' - 1992
Warreck - Bad To The Bone - EP - 1994

Each single or EP had a cover. I guess I copied the cover of Ritchie V. - When Children Cry / Come Give Me Your Love - 7'' - 1989 from there.

Both tracks from the single are being reissued on the album "Say Goodbye with a Smile", which is currently available on Ritchie's website.

It is interesting to know that Ritchie was involved in band Pussy Lover. Unfortunately from the cover I have, it is not clear who the artists are.

@emosteel:
Seems like that Unlimited band was just a mistake by the guy who created the list for the 2nd part of the book.
I just got an answer from Matthias Mader:
"Leider habe ich den Index für den zweiten Band, der nicht erscheinen wird, nicht selbst erarbeitet.
Es sind schon öfter Fragen diesbezüglich aufgetaucht, da hat es eine Menge Konfusionen, Ungenauigkeiten und schlichtweg Fehler gegeben. Ich gehe von einer Verwechslung mit der deutschen Band Mama und ihrer "Limited Edition"-LP aus."

Thank you, Prowler for clarifying the Unlimited case. By the way, there are other mistakes in this list - Alien Force (Denmark), Sultan (Switzerland), Stormbringer (Switzerland).
While browsing my cover folders, I found some other bands that I hope are useful. I'm not sure they're all German.

Cyclone - A Burning Fire & I Want You 7'' - 1986

Hunting Deadheads ‎– Religion Wars / All But Nothing - 7'' - 19??

Valentine ‎– I Can't Get Enough / Skin On Skin - 7'' - 1990

No Limit Band - Crazy Boy / Alone in My Bed - 7'' - 1991

Horizon - Horizon - MCD - 1992

Stuttgart ‎– Airplay - LP - 1981 [maybe it's just rock and blues]

No Limit Band I refuse to add. I know the sleeve looks like Hard Rock, but that's it. Just an ordinary backstreet Rock band. I had their single once. :|

Btw, here's a link where you can find a compilation with a rare song of Berlin Heavy Rockers Rough Angel:

About my announcement in my earlier post about the band Sia (may be SIA). I have no other information than the short publication in the first issue of April 1990 of Metal Hammer (at that time the magazine was published twice a month). Here is a scan of the page:

I will be grateful for more info about this 3 song promo CD - cover, song title, etc.

Some first wave black metal/cassette noise from hell/juvenile satan worship bands for your consideration.

Image

ACRID
Primitive raw black/death metal band from Siegen that was formed in 1984 by Savage Bastard (Hendrik Thiemer)
(Vocals, Guitar) and Hellish Tormentor (Drums). Released two demos "Devil's Meat" (1985), "Acrid Beasts" (1986)
and an untitled 1986 rehearsal tape before changing the name to ETERNAL TRASH and releasing another demo
"Procession" in 1987.

Image

EVOKED DOOM
Death Metal ("deathnoise") band from Burladingen formed in 1984 under the name PAIN by Zombie (Manfred Kantz, vocals) and Sherron (Oliver Barth, bass) . Released one rehearsal tape in 1985 and one self-titled demo in 1986 that lists three further session musicians including a drummer even though there is clearly a drum machine on the recording. Oliver Barth moved on to form FURIOUS RANKNESS and later the Crust-Punk/D-Beat band CLUSTER BOMB UNIT.

Image

SADIST
Black/death metal band of the ASSASSIN members Dinko Vekic (guitar, vocals), Markus "Lulle" Ludwig (drums) and Michael Hoffmann (bass). Released two demo tapes 'Infernal Blood Massacre' (1985) and 'Innocent Mayhem' (1986) which were more commonly available on a combined compilation tape.

Image

SEMEN OF SATAN
Peter Fischer (Vocals), Patrick (Vocals, Bass), Vivi (Guitar), Micki (Drums)
Black metal band from Münster. Formed in 1981 (?) as a punk/noisecore band, the first german-language demo "Schlachtet die Friedenstaube" was recorded in 1982/83 and minimally distributed. The second demo from 1984 features a early black metal style not too far removed from Hellhammer, but way more amateurish and crude. MA says they had a contract for a studio album in 1986 but nothing came of it. It seems they weren't that well liked among their peers. I dimly remember Tom Angelripper denouncing them as "a shitty punk band" in some fanzine.

There is some confusion over the two (three!) bands named MAYHEM

Your entry for the Eislingen MAYHEM uses the photo, members list and discography (demography?) of the Frankfurt MAYHEM. They did two demos, Chains of Death and Evil Pentagram

The Eislingen MAYHEM featuring Klaus Kreissig and Manuel Kreissig did the 1987 demo "Thrash Til Death" and moved on to TOXIC SHOCK.

And finally the logo, bio and demo of the Frankfurt MAYHEM entry actually belongs to a third group (with connections to Exumer) from Frankenthal, Pfalz.

We are aware of Acrid/Sadist/Semen of Satan and also Evoked Doom. Those will be added later, when the Mags odyssey was solved.

As for Mayhem, I was expecting a question like that right from the start.
During my research I have found advertisements of Manuel Kreissig around 1986 (the Demo seems to be from 1986 indeed) at old Metal Hammer issues offering the "Chains of death" Demo under the Eislingen address. The problem I had with "Evil pentagram" (eventhough I have that one too still from old tapetrader days) is that neither in Mayhem articles, nor in Toxic Shock features I have found a single mention of any "Evil pentagram" Demo. "Chains of death" is the only one mentioned, so that's why we will add "Evil pentagram" not before someone will forward us evidence in form of at least a Demo cover. Furthermore the picture that's posted in the database feature is indeed showing both Kreissig bros in youthful days (compare with later Toxic Shock pictures, it's both of them).
The "Mega Metal" Mayhem was Mem von Stein's band.
No clue what that "Thrash till Death" Mayhem band was originating from and if it exists coz I don't have their Demo, nor I've ever seen that one yet. In their case visible evidence is more than welcome.
In case you got your info from Metal Archives, do not fully trust what you see there. There are alot of wrong info and releases added that don't even exit. Even wrongly spelled bands like "Brian Sledge" (as it was already mentioned wrongly in Metal Hammer ^^). Doesn't mean that all info in our Database is 100 % correct, but in most of the cases when it's possible, we check things up and compare with other features in older mags etc. to deliver the most possible info that we could find.

I stand corrected! There is a lot of conflicting info on these bands on the web and I indeed went with the info from Metal Archives because it seemed the most plausible. Thank you for your insight.

All entries for Mayhem-GER @ Corroseum fanzine archive are also just for Eislingen band and their Chains of Death demo, no mentions of Evil Pentagram or Thrash til Death demos ...

https://thecorroseum.org/fanzines/index ... ar=#search

I have files of that Evil Pentagram demo somewhere, will look upon it if any scans are included.

I don't have a scanner on my hands so apologies for the quality. These are some publicity photos of MASCOT from Fellbach near Stuttgart.

Mascot formed around 1985 under the name INVADER but changed their name when the Bremen INVADER debuted on vinyl.
Mascot played glammy melodic metal strongly influenced by Whitesnake (at least they did several Whitesnake covers
in their live set). There is indeed one demo tape, "Back on the streets" from 1988 with four songs on it.
https://www.discogs.com/Mascot-Back-On- ... e/12559782

In December 1988 Mascot competed in the "Rockfabrik/Metal Hammer Nachwuchswettbewerb" in Ludwigsburg where they came in third place. This might be hearsay but from what i've been told there were some record deal negotiations
afterwards during which their drummer exhibited some unwarranted rockstar behavior and the band dissolved.
Vocalist Martin Obermeier and Bassist Franke Hildenbrand hooked up with two members of SHARON and formed LETTER X.
Guitarist Olaf Adami joined GLENMORE. I don't know the real names of the keyboardist and drummer, they went by
the nicknames Gogo (keys) and Lilli (drums). They also had a different singer Frank Eisenmann in the Invader/early Mascot days who later fronted local band HONEYTRAP.

Winged Messenger - Guardians Of Eternity - LP – 1985
https://www.discogs.com/Winged-Messenge ... er/1748006
That WINGED MESSENGER record is an interesting case, as it was never released on vinyl. Their label Bregenzer Records folded a couple of days before the tapes were to be sent to the pressing plant due to lack of funds. The first CZAKAN 12" 'Heaven' also fell victim to this. Still, they sent out advance tapes and both albums were (poorly) reviewed and advertised in Metal Hammer in 1986. The only source for the Guardians of Eternity lp is from when the guitar player started selling CD-Rs with bonus tracks from an earlier demo on his MySpace page. Check out the announcement of an unreleased DARK SKY debut release. There was also a ARKHAM album on Bregenzer slated for release, but I don't know which of the two Arkhams is being referred to.
