Fongus (Mex) first LP

Post by NWN PROD »

Hey Dan,

Have you heard their first LP? I'm not at home so I don't remember what it was called. It sounds like the Rolling Stones or something. Still very interesting to see a 70's metal-ish record from Mexico.

You should review Ramses "apocalyptica" LP and Khafra "s/t" LP next. I love those dirty Mexican albums!!

No, I haven't heardt he early FONGUS stuff, only read about them at Metaleros. Same w/ RAMSES. This need to be corrected!

I had the 1st KHAFRA on CD but sold it to Destrozer. Maybe I should ask him to review it? Could you provide cover scans, Yosuke?

I can take good digital photos. My scanner is broken at the moment. I think you would like those two.

Hey man, cool to hear!! '70s rock of all kinds from Mexico rules!!! APOCALIPSIS from '68, EL AMOR, ROCK APE, EL RITUAL, COSA NOSTRA from '71, early DECIBEL, KASERTA, LA REVOLUCION DE EMILIANO ZAPATA, DUG DUG's late '60s/early '70s records, GRUPO CRUELA, NAHUATL, RENAISSANCE, SPIDERS, THREE SOULS IN MY MIND, TONCHO PILATOS, etc.

Some aren't heavy rock of course, but I agree that even the progressive rock and blues bands of this country had a dirt and grime smearing their sound that made it refreshing and unique.

I have a self-titled record from 1970 by a band called EL TARRO DE MOSTAZA. Does anybody know anything about this band? I would appreciate any information!

well, you have one of the rarest 60's records, of course very expensive and sought after. There's no info about them, just a bunch of copies of the album and then nothing
