The Australian one was new to me --> added to wantlist.

Thanx a mil' for this tip - I'm a complete & utter completist for USSR comps and I thought I had them all but I seem to have been mistaken. Now ordered.

Some of those Aussie comps looks interesting for sure. Do you own them?

I Don't know if they can be useful but I have these:

1) VA (Taiwan) - 第一屆全國熱門音樂大賽紀念專輯 - 烈火青春 (1st national Music Competition - Youth on Fire) Lp / Tape / CD 1988

The first compilation in the "chinese world" with heavy metal bands. I have the original 1st press CD made in 1988 but it was also released on Tape and Lp. 3 more volumes followed in 1989 (also released on Lp), 1990 and 1991 with other metal bands, still on CD and Tape but I didn't buy them yet. The song "Heaven on Fire" by Metal Kids and "Flying Wings" by Heavy Chains are power/speed metal

2) VA (Bangladesh): Hooray! Tape 1991 (released on December): including Warfaze and Rockstrata and In Dhaka, the first metal bands from the country. Unfortunately I never made the scan of the inner cover and I don't have the original tape anymore.... only the CD reissue:

I have few other compilation with metal bands from China and Taiwan but they all are from 1992 onwards

That Taiwan comp... I don't know if you I should be :D for hearing about another obscure comp to hunt, or  because I'll probably NEVER find the LP. Thanx a lot for the tip anyways. Found some decent pics of the LP + the music is on YT.

Concerning that Bangladesh 1991 tape, are you sure this CD-version wasn't released at the same time? --> https://www.discogs.com/Various-%E0%A6% ... se/3721753
Another interesting item for sure.

As for the Lp version of the taiwanese compilation, to be honest is easier to find than the original CD version: sometimes it pops up on the taiwanese Ruten
.
In my last days before leaving Taiwan I also found the volume 2 on lp:

But I left it there despite it's even more interesting than volume one as 40 US$ were frankly too much and I had no space in my bags to fit it....

As for the compilation from Bangladesh: 1000% sure that CD version was made in 2008 (or, most likely between 2006-2008) along with the reissues of Warfaze, In Dhaka and Rockstrata (I have them all): the original tape came out in late 1991, then a first CDr version (in the same style as Warfaze, Rockstrata and In Dhaka + the compilation "Hits of Metal Band" with more or less the same bands: there's the advertising on the back cover of each of them) were issued in 1996 and, finally, a proper silver-printed/factory pressed CD version of all of them were made in 2008 (or most likely between 2006-2008), and that's the one you see there. I know it for sure as I am also registered in a few bangla metal forum on FB and they confirmed me these years. Plus I got them in 2009 and the guy told me that they were "just released" so there were enough copies (in fact all those pictures you see on DIscogs - this compilation + Warfaze, Rockstrata and In Dhaka CDs) were taken from my own copies and all the contributos basicaaly it's always me under 3 different names... :D

here's a copy of the first taiwanese compilation.... well, not cheap but the original first press CD is not that cheaper (unless you want the bootleg CD version which is basically identical except for some small details), but I saw it also for much cheaper price (around 150 US$)

https://www.ruten.com.tw/item/show?21904724106095

Volume 2 is much, much easier and cheaper to find, while volumes 3 and 4 exist on CD only (as far as I know) and are basically impossible to find unless you search for the chinese bootlegs which are an almost exact replica

Ouch!
Thanx for the info though. Is that US $ in the ruten-link? A bit too much for me since it's more for "scientific purposes" - those 2 heavier tracks were alright, but not $100-alright. They would be great to add to the Compilopedia tho'. Do you have rips & pics of vol. 2?

Taiwan Dollar. More or less 1 US$ = 30 NT$

No, I was planning to buy Vol. 2,3 and 4 on the chinese bootleg CD edition (as well as another mainland chinese compilation from 1990) through my brother but he deleted every contact with me or simply refuses to buy them for me directly in China

I could buy them in Taiwan too but when I decided about that and I had enough money, it was time to leave already

Another really interesting compilation is this one here, featuring two early metal bands from Costa Rica:

- "Todo El Rock" (Costa Rica, 1987):

https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-Todo ... e/12557075

As far as I know it's the only compilation on vinyl from central latino america including heavy metal / hard rock bands (Distorsion and Armagedon) in the 80's: other similar compilation with bands from such geographical area were not issued until mid 90's, so this has been the one and only for quite some long time, except for really obscure and local tapes

Armagedon alro released a 7" with two songs: "Nunca Te Vuelvas Atrás / Fuera De La Realidad" in 1987

while Distorsion released two 7" ("El Último Tren" in 1985 and "Perdido / Dónde Vive Mi Paz" in 1986), a demo in 1986 (including, beside demo version of the songs off the two 7", also other songs like "Medianoche", "La Busqueda", "Te Vamos A Enseñar", "Maldito Telefono" and "Espiritu Del Viento") and a self-released CD in 2007 when they regrouped after many years with re-recordings of old tracks and new songs.
They also appeared with the song "Perdido" in another compilation Lp made in Venezuela in 1986 titled "Rock del Mundo Latino" with bands from different spanish language countries (Spain included):

https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-Rock ... se/9569759

As far as I know there isn't any other vinyl compilation from central america until mid 90's and beyond.

Some sources or blog list an unexisting "From Todo El Rock" compilation but it's basically the above mentioned "Todo El Rock" with a shortened track list (possibly the uploader didn't rip the whole compilation) and an invented, internet-purposely made new cover

I see on various FB group that this Costarican compilation isn't particularly impossible to find.

Most of the songs on the original Lp were used for a compilation CD made in 2002, but some songs were omitted:

https://www.discogs.com/fr/Various-20-A ... e/13148420

I don't know if there's any rip of the original compilation floating around or single tracks uploaded on youtube, but as for historical purposes it's an important compilation regarding the metal scene in cental latino america area
