That's not the first time Paradoxx has sold that high. $1,500 has been cited as the MINIMUM for it in recent years, with other quotes above the $2k mark. I'm just surprised so many copies have turned up so close together AND they've all brought big money. Then again, Paradoxx has the hype; everyone knows the 'only 50 copies escaped the pressing plant' legend, and it's been known even to moderate collectors for ages. There have been several US metal LPs on ebay in the past month or two that are much rarer than Paradoxx and, at least to my ears, are comparable in terms of musical quality, yet none of them have cleared the $500 mark.
Rare is one thing. Being legendary versus obscure is the real key to the price tag.
