The title says it all, which are the best stores in Amsterdam for cd hunting?

Thanks for your answers or a link to a similar post if it already exists.

Some years ago all record shops disappeared but maybe new ones have emerged due to the new vinyl trend. I've found some on a site: City Records en Red Light Records. Don't know them but could be worth it; they apparently sell second hand vinyl.

It's Dutch though.

If I'm not mistaken Amsterdam was never really a hotbed for metal shopping, right? Isn't Rotterdam more interesting? I remember citytripping R'dam some six years ago with my girlfriend, and to my great pleasure I discovered a lot of (second hand) music stores. Unfortunately, never found the time to go back there (only multiple Baroeg- and Brouwerij De Molen visits).

There's a street (Niuwestrasse??, something like that but it's in the city center and it's a known street) in Rotterdam with several record stores scattered, but thanks to the internet prices have gone up a little bit, there are a couple of interesting stores in Delft as well if you will find your way there.

Actually I'm going to Amsterdam not Rotterdam. I can spend a couple hours to records tracking but not much more.

There's actually a couple of websites with addresses:
http://www.recordjunkie.com/stores/dire ... /amsterdam
http://www.recordshops.org/
http://www.vinylhub.com/record-stores/A ... etherlands

These all should give you some insight of what's available.
You should definitely visit Concerto, one of the better shops.

Thanks a lot!

Concerto looks promising. Quite expensive prices but they have some Japanese imports I might want.

So I only had time to visit a few shops:

- The Media markt near the central station was terrible
- Concerto was ok, they have a small HM used cds selection but some bargains and they also sell new stuff
- Second Life had nothing interresting in HM cds
- Record Mania had a very small HM used cds selection but nothing interresting

Hi I live in Eindhoven.
Check these shops out.

https://www.ray-lp.nl/
Usualy has some 2d hand metal (80's stuff). Sometimes he buys collections from old metalheads. Not too expensive, but he knows his discogs.

Usualy has some 2d hand metal (80's stuff). Not too much, around 50 items, have to be lucky, but its a nice guy, for coffee and talk. Bought stuff there like Heavy Load, Ostrogoth, King Diamond.

Big 2d hand shop, not too much metal usualy, but you can be lucky. Bought some cool stuff there. Worth to visit this one.

Oldschool shop, little bit outside center, you have to very lucky here, I think I found 5 metal lps in 15 years, last time I checked he had Legend / Death in the nursery laying around.

https://velvetmusic.nl/en/store/velvet-music-eindhoven
Shop inside a sort of shopping mall.
Never bought anything there, but has some 2d hand stuff, once saw a st vitus lp there...

Oh and when your thirsty, there is a nice bar called: The Jack, the play metal, and there are gigs there.
And ofc theres the old glorious Dynamo Cafe (very much changed since oldschool days, of course), maybe for history sake, check it it out, middle of center.

Memorabilia shopping bag from Fame record shop that I visited around '95-'96.. I remember it was huge a bit similar to Virgin Megastores!
