Nah, wait ... it is true that one of the 2 Ulterior Motive trax is Be-Bob-A-Lula stuff :( ... but the other track is ok/listenable female Hard Rock/Metal and I know worse US singles than this one. For example the vocals of the Jagged Edge 7" are making it unbearable. But for 5 GBP I really don't hesitate that long ...
Shunt is indeed highly recommended (very cheap one). I was quite surprised because I've heard the other single of them earlier and didn't want to buy this one therefore.
I think there was earlier an discussion about the Blind Rage 7", Heavy Metal with little glammy edge, very listenable ...

With some luck you can find Spellbound - Escape in 2nd hand shops in Tokyo or Osaka for a low price (in case you are visiting Japan).

Tomohiro Hagi (guit.) now playing in Dirty Thirty and Manipulated Slaves, had some copies left a few years ago.
Just send him a message (he speaks english).

I have 2 demo tapes and they´re pretty good, too.

I´ll be away from home for the next 6 weeks and just back at the end of May.

In June I´ll have time to rip them.

The Texan ones always seem to hold lots of potential for Metal, Hard Rock & Southern Rock finds, so the 'Houston Home Cookin'' LP caught my eye/imagination in particular.
I quite like Mariner - "I'm Alone" from WTUE Homegrown II. You can listen to it here:
http://www.wtue.com/media/podcast-wtue- ... -20553683/

Elsewhere on that LP there is a bunch of boogie and southern rock, and this one from Bramble which I think you'll appreciate:
http://www.wtue.com/media/podcast-wtue- ... -20542021/

I haven't actually had a chance to listen to any of the other radio comps yet so I'll just tell you what I know from the tracklistings. Houston Home Cookin has an exclusive track by Oz Knozz, "Destiny" by Toyz (from their 45), and some other promising looking track titles such as U.S. Steal - "Don't Stop", Lowboy - "Pistol Annie", and Longshot - "Hooker". Rock To Riches II has Warhead - "Street Survivors" from their 45, but I don't recognize any of the other artists. The Rock-Off 88 LP is not technically a radio comp but it has 2 exclusive tracks from Trooper, whose "In The Dark" single is rather good.
Many thanks for the info Kier and both those tracks you linked are right up my street, much appreciated.
I've sent you a PM on the subject.
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.

Ugh, what's wrong with the vocals? Both JAGGED EDGE Singles are Masterpieces, I think you had tomatoes on your ears when playing it

BTW: Does that JAGGED EDGE 12inch private pressing from 1982 really exist? It is mentioned on MA but I have never seen a copy.

The vocals do sound childish/girlish. He does not have a voice at all.
As for the 12", never seen, not a single copy in 15 ebay years! Also no evidence on Popsike ...
