I've seen more people listing 'archive copies' of singles lately. How can you really verify that a single, which was never in sealed packaging, has "never been played"? It may be in super-nice condition, but I'm always a bit skeptical of this claim.
And regarding the high prices on some items, there's a lot of metal vinyl up right now with ridiculous prices, we're talking prices that are double the usual high-end price. I guess the sellers are hoping for a sucker, but is it worth the bother of listing a record for 6 months, trying to get $175 for it, when you could sell it quickly for about $50?
Yes I've noticed this pattern aswell, one guy kept dropping his prices and KAPOW! i bought a few 45's at the right price. He must have been listing them for months and cost him a bundle. NWOBHM is getting hot at the moment in the UK and the prices are on the rise, I think the bubble will burst and things will become a little more realistic.
Example, I bought the 1st Satainc Rites LP for $20, it sold for over £50 the last time it was on ebay, Rattlehead sold it for $100 in poor condition. Keeping plugging away with ebay and don't give in to these stupid prices and the bargains shall come.
Oh and the term "archive copy" grates me to the point of violence, play the fucker don't be wanker.

Sorry I wasn't questioning the credibility of Rattlehead in anyway, it was listed on popsike for $100 with a warp/split. Just utilizing this listing to emphasize my own bargain hunting ninja qualities. Now that Druid LP though....

I saw some of his auctions later today, of course nothing left then in that league..
The Overkill slipped away under my fingers for a similar price in the past.. but the yellow goat is just insane and the Manowar went for about 150 just last week
edit: just took another look and scored Darkness - Defenders.. and Death Squad LPs for OK prices, at least.. so thanks for the tip!

Great. Just great. It's almost like you're tempted to throw the guy a pm and tell him how much cash he just "lost".
Just bought some of his stuff. No real killings made, but a couple of things for good prices and a couple that I just needed to plug holes in the collection. Thanks for the tip.
I know I ain't doing much,
doing nothing means a lot to me.
