Well, by speaking of Doom Metal, Dream Death needs to be mentioned as well, though I'm not sure if it's Doom/Thrash, Thrash/Doom, Doom or just Thrash or doomish Power Metal or what is it?
The Obsessed, ST. Vitus deserve a vote, though are they still obscure or already "common" Doom bands? Guess they should be known to anyone.
Also, Manowar's "Dark Avenger" is one of my favorite Doom Metal (and it's classic Doom Metal) songs ever.

The first half of Dark Avenger is definitely Doomy but reckon the second half might disqualify it as a pure Doom Metal song...mind you one could argue the same of quite a few songs that are generally regarded as Doom Metal classics if we wanna nitpick about things like tempo, changes, sections and what not...

The second part of "Dark avenger" makes the song even more interesting, as the dilemma of most Doom Metal bands is that it's getting boring pretty soon if they keep the same style and tempo all over the record/Demo. That's why I wouln't call myself a Doom Metal fan all. There are a few outstanding trax that I love to listen to regulary but that's just a handful. Saint Vitus' "V" album is one of the very few that I'd listen to daily. Some really fascinating songs...

Well, Doom songs can have fast parts in them, as well as Doom bands have some faster songs in the same way that Thrash can have slower parts or entire slower songs without falling off the genre (and anything that too strictly to whatever is considered a specific genre tends to be pretty uninteresting anyway). It's all about what's predominant overall.

A strange czech Avantgarde/Prog Rock/Hard Rock/Metal band:

Check out the "O Hory O Hory" single, guess it fits to the topic. Also the DLP from 1987 features a few Metal inspired trax, though I need to admit it's one of the most odd records in my collection.

A bit left-field maybe, but any of these should scratch that doomy itch:

Not really a Doom band, but this particular Spike Raven track spreads a doomish flair, reminds me somehow of Death SS due to the vocals. I love this song.

Sadly no soundfile was uploaded to the www yet, but White Friday's track "Witch's cry" is archetypical and funtastic Doom Metal in the Candlemass vein.
The rest of their Demo/Cassette EP from 1987 on the other hand features just 3 ordinary Hair/Glam Metal songs.

In case anyone missed the discussion on these guys over in the Cult Of The Underdog thread - from Ningen Isu's first album from 1989. Pure BLACK SABBATH worship.

You can hear that White Friday song on the 'I Scream With Christine' podcast/stream (S02E27). It's the 2nd last track & begins at 52:46 :

I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.
