Well, there's Napalm Death. I think by the time their debut LP came out there were no original members left :lol:

I suppose Riot is the most obvious example though they at least amended their name to Riot V.
If we're including Proto-Metal (and i am), Atomic Rooster absolutely fits the bill. They 'reformed' a couple of years ago with just the singer from their 3rd line up & the guitarist from the 4th version of the group as the only members who had any connection whatsoever to the original band. Since then singer Pete French has left, leaving guitarist Steve Bolton (who only appeared on their 4th LP) as the sole link to their past.
The line-up who recorded their one front-to-back classic album, 1970's 'Death Walks Behind You,' all passed away years ago.
Paying tribute is one thing, but to me this new line up seems like a blatant cash-in & an insult to the memory of their fallen comrades.
