@Prowler: Maaaaaybe.... Hans Gerber sounds familiar, and I know I've had an old copy of the Torture mini which I traded. Not familiar with Hateful Rage tho'
...and the Acis 7" was pretty great now that you mention it.
@Peter: Poor man.. your local scene must have been awful if High Tension topped the list

First 2 High Tensions are listenable. Unfortunately they got softer with each album but shot the bird with the last one. The cover speaks for itself.

Never heard this phrase before. Is it German and traduced? To shoot the bird ... What does it mean?Prowler wrote:First 2 High Tensions are listenable. Unfortunately they got softer with each album but shot the bird with the last one. The cover speaks for itself.

Re: Best band from your home town/city
My old home town was so small it didn't have a single rock or metal band.
From my current home town: Most will probably claim Ghost, but I will say Axe Witch.

Just from the context i'm guessing he meant they went too far, like 'jumping the shark'.Noisenik wrote:Never heard this phrase before. Is it German and traduced? To shoot the bird ... Here in Scotland we have a similar saying 'shoot the crow', but here it means you're leaving or going home.
'It's 3am & i'm so drunk i can't see straight, i think it's time i shot the crow'.
There's also a similar sounding Scots phrase, 'taking the crow road', but that means someone is dying.
'You shouldn't have let him leave at 3am when he was so drunk. He was found lying in the snow this morning. He's taken the crow road'.
Don't know where either phrase originates from, but although 'old school' they're still used often.
I cannot, I shall not, I will not obey.

I thought it's a common phrase everywhere.Noisenik wrote:Never heard this phrase before. Is it German and traduced? To shoot the bird ... "to shoot the bird" means you've done something really stupid, like dressing in women's clothes or anything that makes others doing that facepalm thing, because it's unbelievable (stupid).
And I/we (Germans) don't know that "jumping the shark" or "shoot the crow" stuff either.
