Highway is great too
I also like the Howling Hurricane altough not completely metal, more a a hard rocking band but like the vocals of Angela Groothuizen (maybe because when i was very young i grew up with 7" of the Dolly Dots : ) )

Hi Rumblefist, why are your interested in these 3 specific, I only know the names, that it existed, furthermore nothing is known to me for these. Well except Mean Machine 2 vids because its on Youtube.
Did you read about it somewhere, maybe an agressive style, or specifics?

Take a look at this list, maybe you know already, many unknown to me, and lot of demo bands.

Oh and then I remember, the ESCAPE 7" is not mentioned on this link, I know the guys (van zijl & klaassen & van poorten) who put together this list, you can say dutch metal connaisseurs, so that backs my believe the single is very unknown.

I've been several times to this site before.
I know by listening around 80% of these bands.
Sandwitch as well - since i have a live recording and enjoyed it so much, now i wish to listen something on studio
Abyss - i have a few live and studio tracks
Mean Machine was a well apreciated underground band for what i know of their 80's past. But in fact these YT 90's and 2003
tracks aren't that good in my opinion...
Other band i wish to know better is Fitzskin.

Thats a cool song yes, Its also on the 3lp dutch steel box.

I wonder about this, does he mean a tape before press, or was it actually pressed on wax.

Hey, nice :-), I played that song incl.solo in '82. The single never was released and all copies stayed (and got lost ...) in Germany. And yes, the B-side was Save Me. Over here I have the sample of the single before officially pressed, somewhere. I'll try to find it. (Sme wasn't a very strong song by the way, haha ... :-)

No, it was unreleased.

Unless some ex-band members, no-one ever listened to that track.
It was recorded to be the side B, but as stated it was never released.
Some dudes of the band still have it on their old tapes, but so far the gates are closed.....

I wouldn't mind to have it hahaha :D

If you put aside the dimension of the market, german metal isn't as good as the dutch.
For me after the NWOBHM and british metal in general, it stands after - the dutch.
Some might disagree and state as european fave the german, or the scandinavian, or french or the spanish.

In my mind they all are wrong - the Low Countries until 1985/1986 dominated the scene after the beefs.

Time to review something different, i.e. one of the greates examples of early HM EPs from Europe. I'm sure you're all familiar with this one:

Theres a new boxset around. Crash! Bang! Wallop! - New Wave Of Lowlands Heavy Metal 1979-1984

https://www.discogs.com/release/2280880 ... -1979-1984

I have it, its fantastic, the music, you'll know a lot of tracks, but there are some surprises.

I have the LP edition with (dutch writen) booklet.
Cool images, nice interviews, really love the effort put into this, made by old school fans who experienced it all.
Im especially fond of this, as its in my area, nice time document.
