Outburst - demos '88
Solid hard/heavy rock from this local (Tampere/Nokia) band who only released a 5-track MLP 'Stranglers in the Night' and a 7" ("Lonely Nights" b/w "No More") - unfortunately not reissued on compact disc so far. Catchy, Purple/Rainbow influences, lots of Hammond, nice guitarring, and most notably splendid vocals by Kaarlo "Kake" Haaramo. These 6 demo tracks were done w/o original guitarist Jartse Tuominen. Replacing him is Kimmo K. Kilponen (who's my work mate).

I wasn't that impressed by OUTBURST's vinyl offerings. Are the demos any better?

Myself, I've been spinning a lot of Belgians KILLER lately. "Bodies and Bones"!!!

No, I wouldn't say they are. But then, I *am* impressed by "Stranglers in the Night". Having eyeballed a very nice reunion gig a while back might be a contributing factor--I hadn't heard the MLP in years. Sure, it's pretty '70s in spirit and hence a little off the mark when it comes to my tastes in general.

np. Eidomantum 'Fear the Master' 7"
(in my recent interview I asked them, "Is your band name a tribute to Mr. Corroseum? I mean, Edmantum, it’s a bit silly, huh?". Unfortunately their answer to this absolutely brilliant question wasn't worthy of publication...)
