Anyone heard this yet? Another one of those "Awesome-single/bad-demos" affairs a la your random NWOBHM 2LP HRR reissue? :|
Yes, that's pretty much how it is. The demo tracks sound nothing like the single, just generic NWO(fill in the blank)HM.
Cheers for the warning. As suspected then.
While on this subject, which are your (everyone's) french demo-reissues recommendations? Personally I can't hype the old Vixen LP of Fils du Metal - straight up one of the finest French Metal albums made. I also like the TNT Lp - GOOD NWO(fill in the blank)HM! ...and of course the killer Slaughter EP which sort of got conceived on this very forum. For some strange reason I often see this one in the bargain bins still, so don't miss out.

YES !

Can't say it's absolutely essential but the XS reissue on Cameleon Records is worth getting for the excellent 3-tracks MLP alone. Demo and 7" are decent yet forgettable.

Barely mentioned on this forum but the HOLSTER demo lp is a must-buy in my book.

Right, I think this thread is more suited, so sorry for nagging/double posting:
A New Records / New Electric Way / N.E.W Musidisc label index has been added to the site, plus 4 mixed/local French comps to the Compilopedia.

I'm really interested in tips on more of those French local comps w/ at least one proper HM tune. I figure there must still be plenty of them not mentioned at discogs...

Here's three LP compilations I would recommend.
(I may have extra copies, email me if interested)

Rock Sous Bois (1987)
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Rock-So ... se/3516332
2 hard rock tracks (by Panama)
1 punk rock track (by Humeurs Noires)
1 new wave/cold wave track (by Alice Merveille)
All in all, 4 good tracks, the rest is sort of lame pop (rock).

CO Production (1983)
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Co-Prod ... se/6235967
Has solid tracks by Iceberg's (heavy metal), Witty Rock Band (hard rock), Dinorsis (hard prog), Rock Mitaine (pub rock), Les Tarzans (powerpop punk), Top Fuel (powerpop), Stomias Boa (new wave/prog), JL Dulon (rock punk)

Rock d'ici Vol.2 (1978)
https://www.discogs.com/Various-Rock-Di ... se/3503529
Has some good tracks as well, but not as obscure as the other two comps above and quite easy to find.

Thanx a lot for the info. I had these on my "need-more-info"-list but it's nice to have it confirmed that they do include some Metal/HR. Sent you a pm!

Was just listening to some french LPs. Put the Ocean 1981 record on (blue cover). Wow I undervalued this for years, was collecting old dust..
It has awesome guitar solo's, this really looks like a record which is average on the first look, but a great french hardrocker!

The French scene is probably the only "big" scene I could never get into. Right now I can't even think of a single French band that I'm really into.

Evil Power (pre-No Retutrn), some tracks are more in speed/thrash metal vein reminding first Slayer and Metallica albums, some are more on traditional speed metal side. Probably in top-5 French "demo only" bands.
Also, it seems this band wasn't mentioned as well :?:

Agreed, fantastic stuff! Tried to contact the band for a re-release but no luck so far!
