SORTILEGE

Post by The Sentinel »

Couldn't find a thread about Sortilege so I guess there isn't one. I was wondering what people would vote in this poll.

For me the 3rd album, there are so many majestic moments on this album that bring tears to the eyes, just like the cover.

Love the debut EP and especially their anthem song but for me Metamorphose is their seminal album. A near perfect traditional metal album which rules in every single aspect, probably my favorite French metal album. I should give the last album another spin. It has been several years since I heard it. I remember being let down by it and only really liking Chasse Le Dragon, but I probably dismissed it too fast, I got it in a big batch of records where other stuff took listening priority.

Metamorphosé definitely. The MLP is great but it seems to get all the attention with the self-titled track. It's not near as strong as a whole as Metamorphosé and damn, the title track ending with the "metamorphose, metamorphose, metamorphose" hymn makes me shiver more than anything! Last week I received an original tank top from that album! 8)
I'm not too familiar with Larmes though, I have the boxset with a poster and the CD includes a few tracks which are great (Marchand d'Hommes, Fight the Dragon...) Such a great band, one of my top favourites from heavy metal anyways.

For this band, it's all of them.

The EP. Some of the finest euro metal ever.

Like them all, but voted for the EP. Which in turn reminded me I got to get the French version of Metamorphose. Seems that may make quite a difference. :D

As Daniel said, all 3 albums are brilliant yet so different to each other that makes it hard for me to choose, each time you ask me I could name another one. Great band with one of my top 5 vocalists. "Larmes..." is so underrated!

Hmm, I like them all but the EP is simply a few steps better than the rest.

I actually prefere Larmes de heroes over Metamorphose.

"Amazone" and "Sortilege" make the difference for me, but the albums are not far behind. Probably the best French metal band.

EP pure power all the way

the rest of their material is great but sets a different kind of mood which doesnt hits as hard as the ep
