sabbat666 wrote:Another incredible band is SNIPER. Open the Attack! is my 2nd favorite record out of Japan, though recently ive been spinning the 2nd LP Quick and Dead alot. Sniper for me defined NWOJHM (if that term exists?lol). i'm hooked on their songs Phantom of the Night, Dream Lady, Never Change, Over The Sky, and Let It Shine on Me.
Recently i made mp3s from both their albums and 7" from unplayed copies. meaning i managed to find the albums still sealed and made mp3s the first time i played em! so if anyone wants great rips of their stuff feel free to ask! i made em to share.

You're post was the reason i registered to this forum, lol. I really love Sniper and specially their debut LP Open The Attack. That sometimes almost chaotic and cheerful guitar madness combined with tight rythm section just kills. I don't have the 2nd album original and the rip i have kinda is in bad quality. How's the rip you made?

Anyway I'm really fond of Japanese Metal and it's nice to find a decent forum with a decent discussion about it after seeing so many ignorant brats spreading false information and talking about things they don't really know.

Btw Omen of Hate, you should know me, I'm orgazmyxx from soulseek. :)

hey man! its great to have you hear for sure. I really know what your talking about as far as people talking about bands like they know everything and then giving out false info. ( example: I dont know how many times i had to explain to people that X Japan never recorded Orgasm as a demotape. lol). it sucks. I gave up on those other boards. But people here seem to know what they are talkin about which is great.

Good to see another Sniper fan. I will upload the 2nd Sniper LP for ya soon.
check my new Japanese metal thread in the Poisonoise section.
My rip is pretty much flawless because I captured it the very first time the record was spun! when I got the LP it was still in shrink wrap.
I've seen the low bitrate version on soulseek. No one should have to hear this gem at 64 kbps. haha.

Well another thing that bugs me that most ppl are thinking like X Japan = Japanese Metal Scene. And yeah even though the low bitrates can't fully cast a shadow over the greatness of quick & dead, i bet the album would sound so much better if it were a decent rip or original of course.

NWN PROD wrote:Other ones worth mentioning...

Zadkiel - Motorhead worship with a Japanese twist. A discography CD just surfaced in Japan.

White Hell 7" - Read Dan's review of this great Venom wanna be band.

Doom - weird thrash out of Osaka

well, just want to mention:
If anyone is interested in this Japan-only Zadkiel Compilation CD, please drop me a note with PM. I have one copy here (still sealed and with OBI) and I'd prefer a halfway decent trade.
(see http://www.geocities.com/peterott/want.html and the secondary want-stuff if needed)

Does anyone know anything about a japanese band called DEAD WIRE.
The only thing I know about them is that it had three members, all known from other good bands: TAIJI, TETSU, KYO and that they were active around '85.
Now since it had X-member i suggest there's lots of disinformation on internet (there's always when you try to find out something about a band that's related to X Japan) and I hope some of the corroseum's japanese metal experts know more about them than me.

dude people on ebay are retarded when it comes to japanese stuff......either stuff is A) Cheaper than normal and no one bids on it because no one knows what/who it is or B) People think it is more rare than it really is.....

2 good examples are when I bought AION's Human Griefman CD for $9.99, which usually goes for around 20-40 dollars in Japan, and when I bought a X Blue Blood poster from Japan for 5 US Dollars and the SAME poster went for well over 100 US Dollars on ebay!

I think right now too the Damzell CD is on ebay for like $376 dollars!
