But I agree with Black Axe.... how is possible forget a band like Black Sabbat (R.J. Dio period) that is very much like Nwobhm, and my fav. Sabbath era.

Shame on me I've forgot them on my list

Shame on you because you prefer Heaven and Hell or Dehumanizer to Paranoid, Master of Reality, S/T or Vol.4 :P

Let's see...

1. Nighttime Flyer - Heavy metal rules (OK, it's not that great, but it just charms my socks off with that enormous attitude)
2. Diamond Head - Helpless (not everyone's choice by them, but I love it)
3. Cloven Hoof - Gates of Gehenna
4. Satan - Oppression
5. Tytan - Hold back the lightning
6. Witchfinder General - Friends of hell
7. Apocalypse - The chosen few
8. Angel Witch - White witch
9. Tokyo Blade - Night of the blade
10. Arc - War of the ring
11. Weapon - Set the stage alight
12. Dark Star - Lady of mars
13. Praying Mantis - Running for tomorrow
14. Jaguar - Axe crazy
15. Saracen - Meet me at midnight

OK, I'll try to avoid looking at this again 'cause I'll change my mind and regret almost everything.

Awesome song, I think it's a great choice for a NWOBHM comp.

Motorhead is rock n roll and Judas Priest wasnt "new" ,if we should include them this would have to be change to just "britsh heavy metal"

Turbo-Charged for glory
Dark Star-Lady of Mars
Jameson Raid-Seven Days of Splendour
Cloven Hoof-s/t

-end of thread-

although i would go for GJ list too

The "New wave of" doesn't mean the bands had to be new, only the music had to. It's a new wave of metal not a new wave of newcomers ;)

No, because they never sounded like any other NWOBHM band. For me they can never be included in it. Sabbath's essence is in the early 70's ONLY. The rest are good or average albums here and there, without unity.

No don't worry, never preferred Dehumanizer that is a 6/10 Lp against early 70's Sabbath works (from first until sabotage all are great).

Heaven and hell + Mob rules are on another planet against Dehumanizer.
And very Nwobhm to my ears, with only few Hard rock elements here and there.

Ok maybe I'm the only one here to prefer Dio VS Ozzy, but I've discovered Black Sabbath in 1985 with "Live Evil" and always feel perfect their heavy/dark sound with a powerful voice like Ronnie. Sorry can't says the same thing for Ozzy, that I quite like though but in a different way.

You think ? I encountered many "true metalheads" that love to claim they prefer the Dio-era and that the "Ozzy-era is for wimps"...

As for me, I love Dio.... mainly in Rainbow. Never liked is collaboration with BS (with the exception or 2-3 tracks here and there but nothing freaking out).
