Best WILDRAGS Records Release

Post by Metal Dan »

Not sure if this has been done before here, maybe it has but I don't have time to search through all the pages & threads on this forum.

So what is your favourite Wild Rags release?

I need time to think about this so I'll get back to it later.

Voted for Order from Chaos; that record creates havoc in the most destructive way possible. It also has the best guitar sound in the extreme metal field.

But Blasphemy, Nuclear Death and Impetig are right behind; awesome records; landmark albums.

...and yes, Recipients of Death released a nuke as well.

Was tempted to vote for Nukular Death, but I had to go for Hellwitch.

hard to choose. it had a lot of awesome gorilla death/thrash which i love so much. my favorites:

Blasphemy FAOD
Nuclear Death Carrion For Worm & ...For Our Dead...
Preacher Trapped In Hell (really underated stuff)
Anialator II
The Hexx 12" EPs
Hellwitch Syzygial

Impetigo are cool too but not a fav

Not too much a fan of Recipients Of Death & Order Of Chaos actually...

I don't know which records were released by them since I never really cared about labels. I'd go with Impetigo, but Horror Of The Zombies instead of UMC. Just for having Defiling The Grave.

Even since back-in-the-days this was one of my least fave imprints. To be honest it felt like they pretty much picked up the scraps/leftovers of other labels that beat them to the quality stuff :?

Looking at Peter Ott's Wild Rags discog, the only really good one I've kept in my collection through the years would be HEXX's "Quest For Sanity" MLP, but I'll pass on the poll since it's a bit off-topic for me. Still, I'll give them some credit for signing some of the most sick & outrageous bands of the time, like IMPETIGO, NUCLEAR DEATH and BLASPHEMY ...not the kind of stuff I ever got into but wth...

Thanx. I had a copy of the MLP once - it's a cool & primitive Stupid US Thrash release, like the equally "decent" BLOODCUM, ANIALATOR, [insert low-end NRR thrash act of choice] etc.. but I can only handle so much of this stuff to be honest...

Way too hard to choose, but these three are some of my faves:

Impetigo - "Horror of the Zombies"
Nuclear Death - "Carrion for Worm"
Blasphemy - "Fallen Angel of Doom"
Hellwitch - "Syzygial Miscreancy"

I was in touch with Richard C. back in the day and remember talking to him on the phone many times. Man, that guy was a world class liar. :) Never ripped me or my band off, though.

Interesting trivia - the rumor was that Wild Rags got shut down due to tax issues, but Richard C. really just got tired and quit. His daughter was even selling dead stock as recently as a few years ago. I know some people who picked up a good bit of the old stuff that way.
