It might just be me, but I can totally here Facelift-era Alice in Chains doing a very respectable job of Slough Feg's Why Not. An anachronism, of course, but every time I hear that descending and distorted verse contrasting skeptical, personal lyrics with bouncy rock-ish riffage underneath, I'm reminded of the more metal side of early grunge. It probably does get a bit too aggressive towards the end, but still.
